Get a new thread title dipshite. 9 years is not "soon".

read the article dipshit. Somebody will more than likely buy out the contract before then. CBS is paying a ton for NFL Thursday night rights and they will need money to pay for it. Somebody will make an offer they can't refuse, because the sec will not extend the contract.

That will bring Notre Dame to the SEC.

The REC would never allow this and you know it

Just because some journalist writing an editorial for Fox Sports says that someone should buy out the rights to the SEC on CBS doesn't mean that it's actually going to happen.

Disagree. ESPN production quality trumps CBS. I like Verne, Danielson is shite. No reason Verne couldn't go to a new network.

I like the games being on CBS but NBC has a much better high definition broadcast. CBS needs to up their equipment.

It's almost criminal how little they pay the SEC.

It's a speculative article that ignores what CBS is making on the deal. Sure they could sell the rights but then they'd lose the advertising dollars that is probably worth more than what they could sell the rights for. SO, like I said change the thread title since 9 years isn't "soon".

Dipshite.

and I don't particularly like the "top games" being played during the day anyway.

You want to know how we know you aint SEC? This. Late afternoons in the fall ARE the best possible time for CFB in the south.

As long as Gary danielson tags along, I don't care what channel it's on. But I must say, CBS is a great production.

Maybe, maybe not. But, with CBS paying so much for NFL Thursday night, they may very well want to capitalize on huge offers from another company. CBS screwed up when they didn't renegotiate their deal after A&M and MIzzou joined, so it is almost a definite that the SEC will not extend with CBS.

I'll never understand why people think Gary Danielson is a good commentator. He's almost worse than Verne, which is saying a lot.

This. Danielson says stupid things regularly.

NBC is actually a pretty legit option considering they were about to spend boatload's for the NBA, but they are renewing with ESPN & Turner.

It would have to be the same 2:30 spot though because they won't want to directly compete with their premier league stuff.

I hope it ends up on NBC because I would love SEC football Men in Blazers crossover

CBS was a good exposure window but now there is the SEC Network.

There are plenty of people in this country that will never have enough interest in the SEC to pay for the SEC Network, but are more than willing to tune in to CBS to catch a game. Being the first conference to have a weekly nationwide game is one of the reasons the Sec's popularity has increased so much.

They screwed up by not paying more money for two more teams for 9 more years. They made a killer deal for the next 9 years.

For the next 9 years, sure it's great. Losing the SEC contract after that isn't so great.
