I tried arguing this this the other day to no avail ...

Gumps Gonna Gump

Who cares let them believe what they want to because the SEC Office will decide one way or the other and whatever they choose will be the truth.

Good God, man. The crown of his helmet is basically buried in Murray's ear hole. Are we not looking at the same pic.

Looks like a solid block to me. Like I said, if he wasn't a QB no one would care.

THAT'S WHY QUARTERBACKS AND BALLCARRIERS CANNOT BE TACKLED FROM BEHIND AND CRACK-BACK BLOCKS ARE ILLEGAL BECAUSE YOU CAN'T HIT SOMEONE IF THEY DON'T SEE IT COMING!!!

fricking idiots. who cares if he saw it coming or not. he was moving in position to make a tackle, and he got blocked. hard.

He was hit directly between the numbers. You think blockers should wave, yell look at me, before they can block now?

the tackle literally was in progress as he hit him

Most tackles are.

It was a blatant foul and attempt to take him out.

If that were the case, I imagine he'd have hit him above the shoulders and wouldn't have hit him between the numbers.

No, yall just dont know the rule.

Here it is.

Again.

1. Leading with the crown of the helmet
or
2. Contact above the shoulders on a player who is obviously out of the play

That will be the only way Dial's arse is saved for the NCG.

But you can't suspend a kid when he didn't actually do anything illegal, he was just too rough. That's absurd.

Ironic post is ironic...

How can you lead with the crown yet make contact with the shoulder first? You cant.

yep.. just like your player hit AJ McCarron 5 minutes earlier. What hypocrites. Don't hear any of you dawgs calling for your own players suspension.

I agree with this. Penalty should have been called... wasn't. Not the players fault.. If the league suspends him they should also suspend the Georgia player who first laid an equally vicious h2h hit on McCarron.

Agree with all of this but the last part. The H2H on McCarron was just a guy trying to make a play.

On the other hand if Dial sits, the chair beside him should be occupied by the UGA player that gave Milliner the eye gouge (and managed to draw a penalty on Bama to boot).

They should suspend both or neither of them.

This. The only people that don't think this was a dirty helmet-to-helmet hit are gumps.

The NFL makes a lot of money off defenders that are stupid enough to make hits like that.

our fullback did nearly the exact same thing to a defensive player during the bama game and it got called. and everyone thought it was the right call.

I am going to be in the minority, but in all these gifs, etc, you can clearly see that he led with his forearm/shoulder to Murray's chest/shoulder region. With that being said, he did end up making helmet to helmet contact with Murray. Whether that is a penalty or not, given the circumstances of Murray becoming a possible defender after the interception is made, that is not my job to decide. IMO it should not be flagged, but I can see the argument that is being made for it to be flagged.

Every Saturday and Sunday I watch defenders get decleated on ST plays where either a tackler or blocker gets completely rocked like Murray did(guy leads with forearm/shoulder and helmet to helmet contact is made), and there's no flags. If Murray wants to chase after the guy who picks him off, he needs to keep his head on a swivel, and not be so naive. JMO.

No need to look at the evidence. If they keep their head stuck in the sand long enough maybe they can convince themselves they are right and any non-biased person who saw it is wrong.
