Troy Smith was a much better passer, maybe Pryor will get it together though, not a bad freshman year.

but you were pretty much proven to be overrated if you lose like that in a NC game.

I agree, but I can't accept it.

heard from a semi-reliable source that Smith packed on 15 pounds before the game(food/party weight, not muscle weight).

It's pretty common knowledge. Also rumored he messed around with Gonzalez's girlfriend weeks before the game and he found out. Whatever. We deserved to get our asses kicked, that entire performance was pathetic.

Troy Smith isn't Tyrelle Pryor.

As of now, TP hasn't proved he's up to Smith's level. Obviously, he has the potential to exceed it, but nothing's certain.

Yeah I have some Florida fans across the street. They came by my window at about one in the morning and played the Florida fight song with the kids trumpet. I was demoralized, but I'm just happy we beat Michigan that year

Ohio State might get their shot this coming up season. If they can knock off USC and win the Big 10 I wouldn't think it's a stretch to say they can make the NCG. I mean; they'll start off preseason #4 I'd guess.

Yeah, all the weight is on the USC game. Which I'm biting my nails off over.

Man I was there too. I was up in the upper deck (I've never paid more money for that high of seats in my life). Best game I've ever seen hands down.

Obviously, beating Mich is great, but just because we beat them doesn't make up for that game.

It makes it a hell of a lot sweeter that they were number 2 at the time though

Ohio State '06 was certainly overrated - through no fault of their own. Definitely a good football team, but not good enough to not take that Florida team seriously and have a chance to win.

It's funny now, but I remember sometime at the beginning of that season signing up on one of those Ohio State forums (Bucknuts, or something) to discuss football with Big-10 fans. At the time, Ohio State was ranked higher than Florida, and was thought to be one of only two or three elite teams that year (Ohio State was coming off a shellacking of Notre Dame in a BCS bowl, while Florida had to hold off a decent Iowa team in a lousy bowl). Florida wasn't considered an elite team by the football media.

Anyway, I postulated in a thread I started that Ohio State looked slow on both lines, and had only one player that would compete for a starting position on UF's defensive front (Gholston, I believe). I also stated that Ohio State had a good team, but would get clobbered by either UF or LSU (by midseason that year, I had UF and LSU ranked 1 and 2 nationally) if they played in a bowl game that year, and that Ohio State fans should hope and pray their Buckeyes get paired up with somebody with equally slow lines.

That thread must have went 50 pages, and I got no help from any of the outside fans on there. I was called names, mocked, laughed at, had every emoticon they had used against me, and was called back to the thread numerous times after I swore silence. It was one of the ugliest threads I had ever started, and in all honesty, I was just looking for some honest analysis.

Well, fast forward four months, and after Florida beat Ohio State, I went back to that board and desperately searched for that thread. Low and behold, it had been deleted. Some Buckeye moderator must have remember that thread and didn't want it dredged up from the dead. They knew I would come back, and I did.

The bastards deprived me of the greatest "told you so" of all time.

I'm assuming you didn't make it down to bourbon for the LSU/tOSU NC game, huh?

Yeah, I was there.

I didn't see a single Yankee hammered. You were all "enjoying the experience", so you didn't want to drink too much
