I find this intriguing. As a conference dominated by basketball, why would this matter?
Because if FSU leaves, then the UNC admin no longer sees the ACC as long term viable option. folks in CH are finally coming around to see that football drives the revenue bus

The Duke/UNC games on the SEC Network would create bank. And South Carolina/UNC games in all sports would be awesome.
not to mention UNC/Kentucky and took/Kentucky games as well
i'd also love to renew the rivalry with little carolina, great atmosphere when they came up to CH Butch Davis's first year, also looking forward to going down to Columbia to open next season

Yes I have an opinion... and when I state an opinion I don't bother posting it on some dust-collecting website then link to it, trying to make it look like news.
Oh I'm sorry for only having 45 posts, am I still way below the requirement for joining your guild and getting to roll for the phat wizard hat?

True, but if this happens we would be the toast of the Big three sports in the NCAA

2 more football opponents for Bama to lock in permanently on the schedule...

You should stick to just browsing cause the whole posting thing is not for you

If that is the case, why is Florida State the linchpin? If football is the revenue driver why not campaign for the SEC immediately? You don't even play Florida State every year.

Can you imagine what the SEC Network contract would be like? We would charge more than ESPN U.

And you should save the 7 bucks a month you send Godaddy and quit contributing to net pollution. Also, quit calling people 'noob' since it raises a flag that you have no defense for your BS.

No Duke. Need a Virginiaa team

Noob, go sit in the corner and leave the posting to people that actually have some intelligence. You have made several post on here and none of which offers any thought what so ever. If you want to discuss the topic at hand,by all means. If not, then do every one a favor and move along

Adding a blue blood from a major is more important, imo. Actually keeping the ACC intact is more important. It keeps them marginalized.

OK, lets discuss the topic at hand: The title of this thread is "SEC making Push for Duke and UNC". Really? Where? I clicked the link and it brought me to someone's personal blog. That blog linked me to another blog which speculated that more ACC teams may leave in the future.
So prove me wrong, where has it been reported that the SEC IS MAKING A PUSH FOR DUKE AND UNC?

But really, serious question.

Florida St is seen as the lynchpin b/c they're were they and Maryland were the only teams to vote against raising the exit fee to 50 mil. Everyone else would like to see the conference stay together because of history/tradition/rivalries, etc. Since FSU isn't a charter member they don't care as much about that stuff.
If FSU leaves, Clemson likely follows them to Big 12, leaving the ACC with no football bargaining power in TV contracts, then it becomes an all out scramble for everyone to find a new home.
UNC wont be the one to kill the ACC, but nobody would blame us for leaving if FSU leaves and Clemson follows. We also feel confident that if the ACC falls, we'll have a landing spot in our choice of SEC or B1G, so theres no need for us to be the one to kill the ACC.
