hasnt been reported anywhere, but there are rumors going around, and clearly this is a rumor that lots of people want to discuss
Apparently Some people like mr. poo would rather discuss an old blog that has cob webs than discuss a valid point

UNC wont be the one to kill the ACC, but nobody would blame us for leaving if FSU leaves and Clemson follows. We also feel confident that if the ACC falls, we'll have a landing spot in our choice of SEC or B1G, so theres no need for us to be the one to kill the ACC.
And this makes sense, but it is a far cry from realizing that football is the revenue driver. I realize adding Louisville instead of UConn was a step in the right direction, as well as the ND thing, but as it stands, UNC is reactive on that front. It seems to me that your course of action should be openly campaigning for the SEC, or at least fortifying your OOC. As it stands, UNC doesn't play any premier annual games. That should change, imo.

I never said it was fact! You seem to be the only idiot here who is asking for someone to hold your hand and explain it to you. The point has been made to why they would make a good fit. Must we carry on this stupid arse argument

Won't happen. The next SEC expansion will be just like the last, about markets. Duke and UNC are the same market, no way the SEC would want both of them.
The SEC is likely to target Virginia or Va Tech and NC State.

But it is still expansion in to North Carolina. That is expansion.

I see the same market area point, but why not make a push for the BB market. It is the second biggest money maker

A blog. I don't believe a word of it.

Exactly. It is a blue blood. It is the biggest rivalry in all of college basketball. That is a national market. Texas is a 100% football state. I have watched Duke/UNC more than I have seen A&M/tu play college basketball.

Technically not true. UNC has control of NC and Duke is Jersey south.

It is on several so there must be some talk at least

Only if Duke becomes our natural rivalry from the east. Nick is calling SEC offices in Birmingham now.

SEC making push for Duke and UNC *LINK*
Sorry I don't see the "Is" or "Should the" at the beginning of that message.
I'm tired of people who want to discuss opinions and instead of simply doing so feel the need to hook people in by pretending they've found some exclusive info or breaking news.

I don't see this happening unless the ACC dissolves.
Duke and UNC pretty much run the ACC and wouldn't want to lose their power by making a switch to the SEC.

There is a strong culture clash at UNC- there are many (particularly after the academic scandal) who would prefer to shut down big time college athletics at UNC, there are others who would prefer we be proactive and join the SEC, most are in the middle resulting in a reactive approach.
The trend right now seems to be that more people are starting to lean towards big time athletics- we hired a legitimate AD and head coach last year, Roy spoke out against raising academic standards and as budget cuts continue many number crunchers are starting to see that a big time football program is a great revenue generator. But the academic scandal did a lot to fire up the nerds and their opposition to all things fun- namely football

We played LSU in 2010 in the Chikfila thing (and almost beat them with half our team on the sideline) We're playing USC in Columbia next year to open the season. We had Tennessee scheduled for a home and away for but they pussed out and bought out the contract. And we have Ohio St scheduled for a home/away series in 2015/16
