"I will not be the coach at Alabama". Trust us LSU folks, you never know what you are going to get year in and year out from Napoleon. He is too egotistical to stay anywhere for too long. He has never been anywhere beyond 5 years. Maybe this time, but don't count on it. Remember, this is a guy who chose Christmas freakin night to announce he was leaving LSU. Seriously? The guy thinks he is more important than Jesus.

1. Alabama is definitely not going anywhere but up for an unforeseeable amount of time in the distance... 3 years, 5 years etc... STABLE. If Saban is at the helm, things will be fine. And there is no reason to believe he'll go anywhere else any time soon, if ever.

Don't count your championships before they're won. After Saban's 6-6 season, Bama fans were ready to run him out of town on a rail. While it's true that Bama had a great season last year, they didn't win anything other than an SEC West title. They choked in their 2 biggest games of the year. And don't forget that Little Nicky has no buyout clause. He can walk away whenever he wants. Though none of them would admit it, that has to be in the back of every Gump's mind

I also feel like LSU's situation could end up going SUPER south SUPER fast considering the meltdown manic crowd they have. people think Bama fans are bad about it... i really think the negatigers are gonna crumble that system as long as Miles proves to NOT be a true championship caliber coach. so their position on this chart could be on the bottom too. just putting them at #4 because of what i think WILL happen.

Wishful thinking on the part of most Gumps. LSU will not allow Miles to take down the program. Four or more losses this year and he will officially be on the hot seat next season. If he doesn't improve, he's gone.

They only choked in the Utah game after the best offensive lineman in the nation got suspended and their second best one got hurt early. The Florida game was a battle and Tebow made some great plays to win that game in the 4th quarter. Florida was the favorite and eventual champion but Bama led going into the final quarter. Utah could be classifield as a choke but not the loss to Florida.

Yeah You! There two types of tiger fans the ones who want to compete for championships every year and the ones who cannot see the forest through the trees like this guy.

Things are not perfect

we got rid of our defensive coordinators last year and it looks we will have to do the same thing on the offensive side of the ball.

LSU is just as much of a player as UF and Bama right now.

Gotta love the coolaid drinkers.

4. Tenn
5. UGA

I wasn't assuming any championship... even with the right guy you can fail to achieve. there are too many variables in each game to assume you're just going to find your way to a trophy.

Also, none of what I said is "wishful" thinking... it's an account of my honest opinion. hopefully I've established myself as a rational and objective Bama fan by now.

like I said, I described each school in a matter of 1 or 2 sentences. not a complete picture at all.

All the talk about Urban Meyer leaving Florida is just wishful thinking by gump idiots like you and other Florida haters. He is not going anywhere any time soon

if there was any job Meyer would take it would be the Notre Dame Job. Fatboy might have saved his job this year even with a lost to USC but he better win the rest of his games.

Tru Dat. TAF will never let that happen considering the fact that we are still paying off past projects. if it goes south next year and I hope it doesn't, they will settle with miles on the buyout(next year if we don't at least finish 2nd in the West). which the buyout is much more than the remaining money left on the his contract after next year.

I agree mostly. But frankly, I think this is a topic better reserved until after the SECCG. Quite possibly, Bama and UF could finish undefeated and end up there. But it's also possible LSU finishes 10-2 and goes to a major bowl. I don't consider 10-2 THIS year to be underachieving given the amount of young players we have at key roles.

However, in terms of the future, I'm iffy on Miles. He can recruit, no doubt. But I just don't feel fully confident in him. The good thing is this: IF things go south quickly, the TAF will take action. And we have an established enough tradition and talent base where the right coach (see Bama) could bring things back to par relatively quickly.

i agree... but Bama was lucky as heck to snag Saban. there weren't many out there available at the time.

Does that not mean coaching sucks? Mark GOTTFIRED was a great recruiter!!

I think LSU will continue to be a contender for The West every Year.

I've stated this many times that LSU will fool and beat someone when they least expect it. I don't care if they are 5-3 and we are 8-0 they can beat anyone. That said I hope we beat them every year.

I think Arky is going to be a top team with Mallett and if they fix their Offense.

Jury still out on Auburn want to see Chiz get them consistant every week. Y'all have some quality players.

UGA I think Richt is never going to take them up to top tier status. Georgia is old time traditional they need a Coach who wants them in the thick of it every year.

As long as Richt is your coach Florida will always reign #1 in the SEC West.

you're thinking too short term here. i'm talking about stability in the future... say over a 5 year projected span.

but fwiw: you're right otherwise.
