I have only seen one SEC program in the state claiming false ownership....

Shutup

Seriously though, they've finished the season ranked in the AP poll 13 times as compared to our 24. We've won more bowl games than they've played in

Hell, if anything, we own the Magnolia State based more on State's abysmal history rather than our own slightly above-average history.

If y'all two were involved in an SEC West rivalry, the score of the most recent contest would have already been posted.

At least they kept it to their own state.

If any of the three major programs in Florida were able to consistently outperform the other two in recruiting the state, they would never lose a game.

The fact that UF, FSU, and the U have had the level of sustained success (as a group) that they've had is absolutely unbelievable.

They can certainly claim what the want, the bottom line is that there's 3x as much national title hardware in Gainesville than Athens. Retroactively claiming 1942 over 50 years later won't change that.

You have to count us if you count Georgia.

No, I don't. We aren't comparing Florida to Georgia. We're Comparing Florida to Florida State/Miami and Georgia to Georgia Tech. Georgia owns the state of Georgia as far as fan bases and Georgia Tech on the field, but the same cannot be said for Florida over Florida State/Miami.

Those three schools have won half of college football's national championships since 1983.

Well if you're including fan bases, it's EASILY UF for FL. Last year was the first time FSU sold out every home game in over a decade.

It us longer because of coaching and (especially) sanctions.

not Bama

Auburn All Time Record: 742–421–47 (.633)
Alabama All Time Record: 850–325–43 (.716)

Auburn Bowl Record: 22–15–2 (.590)
Alabama Bowl Record: 34–24–3 (.582)

Auburn Claimed National Titles: 2 (1957, 2010)
Alabama Claimed National Titles: 15 (1925, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1941, 1961, 1964, 1965, 1973, 1978, 1979, 1992, 2009, 2011, 2012

Auburn Conference Titles: 12 (3 SIAA, 1 Southern, 8 SEC)
Alabama Conference Titles: 28 (4 Southern Conference; 24 SEC)

Alabama leads the all time series. Alabama has arguably the two GOAT CFB coaches.

Auburn is definitely a top 15 program all time, but the gap between 1 and top 15 is solid.

So? FSU still has a ton of fans. Them being fair weather doesn't affect that. If you want to make a point that matters compare the number of FSU fans relative to Florida's population against the number of Georgia Tech fans relative to Georgia's population.

Until then my perception, along with almost everyone else's, is that Georgia is the only big dog in that state while Florida is a big dog in a state with at least one other big dog, maybe two.

They have a ton of fans - right now. What an amazing coincidence.

UF has 3 and y'all have 2. I don't see why this is a point of contention. UGA owns their state more than Florida does, obviously.

It's only a point of contention with Florida fans, mainly Korin. Everyone else knows UGA is THE Big dog while UF is a big dog. That's the difference.

Never mind that we had a sellout streak of 137 home games that started long before Spurrier arrived.

Again though, I listed states that have one big dog. No matter how good Bama is AU is still a bigtime college program. Hence the reason I didn't list Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Texas.

If OM could win some titles they'd have a claim on tlandmass.

We've claimed 1942 for a while now. That scoreboard is from the mid 80's and highlights the 1980 win for that reason. We could claim up to 5 titles but have actual hardware for 42 and 80.

I don't care. FSU still has a ton of fans. I've already said I don't care if they're fairweather fans. Just like I don't care UF had a ton of those same fans on their side during that streak. Florida people switch allegiance like no others.
