Florida folks are so defensive over this. Tells me they know their school was in the wrong on the issue.

Want to duck it is not my discontent, the end result of lack of planning by the SEC and U of F is my discontent. Admit you failed in planning and stop throwing unjustified stones and my university and home city. Stop asking us to travel and give up a senior day home game because of YOUR lack of leadership and planning.

The ducking excuse COULD be a reason, but I don't fully buy it. The only angle I see if Fowley was guaranteed they were going to lose home field advantage so he rolled the dice, hoping he could regain home field advantage later in the year. The end result is you avoid one of your potential losses by not playing at all.

Players wanted to play on both sides no doubt

This is exactly why you guys didnt want to play. Period. I dont care what butter teeth has to say.

No, thats exactly the point. You cant allow them to do shite like that.

A hurricane is an Act of GOD. When the decision was made it was just to unpredictable and volatile a situation so erred on the side of caution. Maybe the game could have been played on say Monday but as the article pointed out there a lot more contingencies that needed to be factored in.

Now here is the bottom line: None of this shite matters anymore....but y'all need to play this game. Here is what should happen:

The conference should pay off USA and Presby.

LSU should get the $3MM to make them whole financially

LSU travels to UF on the 19th.

The LSU-Aggie game should be moved back two days to Saturday to give LSU some relief on the travel.

Should LSU refuse to cooperate, LSU will be charged with a forfeit and everything that implies.

No trolling, how would delaying the game have benefitted UF?

UF starting QB injured and out. Days before the game, reported that 5 of the starting front 7 were out with injury. Coming off of a huge loss. There's no question the UF team could benefit from time off to heal. Fact.

Leonard Fournette-less LSU?

With Guice as back up, not even close to above injuries.
quote:

Would it have given us time to get our injured guys healthy?

Yes
quote:

Del Rio was going to play this weekend the linemen we have out will still be out weeks from now. We've played better teams under worse conditions in the McElwain era alone.

Only really stated when it appeared game would be postponed. You played better under worse conditions because you didn't have a choice. No hurricane to blame those on.
quote:

If the game is rescheduled, who's to say we don't have more and/or worse injuries to our roster at the date it's rescheduled to?

Your coach would rather take the known (injuries now) and get out, as opposed to the unknown. Who's to say UF would have been at full health, and other team more injured, if pushed back?
quote:

Is there some other reason LSU fans feel justified in the belief that UF dodged the game? Because the injury theory doesn't make sense.

The injury makes perfect sense. I probably wouldn't want to face those facts either. Let me ask you this, who was favored to win that game? That's reason alone.

The fact of the matter is, that UF insisted the game would be played on Saturday in Gainesville, when alternatives were being discussed. Even though most everyone else in the country knew it wasn't. Why?

When Foley lied, and said he was convinced of this, until he went to be that night and the storm substantially shifted, that was a lie. Why boldly lie, if not to duck the game?

What about the 15 million in local business impact an LSU game brings?

Wow. The gator posters on this board have shown so much ignorance in the last ten days.

I never bought into the "Jort wearing morons" narrative but I've been proven wrong.

Florida is a bunch of pussies period. Not one of you will admit that UF pushed the timeline back and back enough for no game to be played.

That is just fricking ignorance.

It is amazing how Florida has seemingly gotten away with this and LSU is now being blamed.

Tough shite dude....it's UF's home game this year. It was South Alabama anyway. Sucks all around but can't be responsible because the bars, hotels, and restaurants of B.R. didn't get their game day traffic

I agree with most of this and have said as much in other threads. But I seriously doubt Foley is asking LSU to give up a home game for this. If anyone has made that request of LSU, it's more likely to be Sankey. The guy who's as responsible for botching this as anyone.

Is an official from Florida or anyone from the media who covers them throwing stones at LSU? All I've seen on twitter from respectable people are in defense of the postponement, or at least not having the game played in Gainesville. Obviously stones have been cast on this board but in both directions.

I'm not sure I disagree with this either but I should add it was a potential win as much as a potential loss.

Nope not anymore, at least not on Nov 19th. Dec 3rd? maybe...

Tough shite on Florida for not planning it out like all other schools did this year and in years past. This in on them, not LSU and Baton Rouge.

There is another game on December 3rd. If you want LSU to have any chance to be playing in it, you will play University of Florida on the 19th

I would remind you that UF also lost a cupcake home game as well.
