I went to Tampa in '09 - outside of MSU winning the tournament, the whole thing sucked. Almost no one in attendance.

In Tampa's defense... this was 5 months after the US Economy fell off the cliff. It was the deepest recession our country had seen since the Great Depression.

It also didn't help that 2009 was the worst season for Kentucky basketball since 1989... you have to go back to pre-Pitino to find a worse Kentucky team (as far as SEC record goes).

Kentucky fans knew they were heading to the NIT. They had recently stomached 4 consecutive seasons of not winning the SEC Tournament (Florida won in '05, '06, and '07; Georgia won in '08), and they weren't going to spend money to fly to Tampa just to watch their mediocre team lose again.

I think Tampa deserves another chance. Let's see how they do in 2022 when hopefully the economy isn't in recession and Kentucky fans are excited about their team.

Football should rotate between Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas

Football is perfect in Atlanta. And it was perfect in the Georgia Dome, which was a fine facility.

Damn shame the Dirty Turds built a new stadium but it fits that it closes up like their buttholes in the fourth quarter/overtime of the Super Bowl.

It also didn't help that , after Gainesville, the next closest school was 430 miles away

Yes, but if you've ever been to the SECT, you know that more than 50% of the crowd is UK fans. They'll travel anywhere if their team is good.

Back in the 80s and early 90s, Lexington was an awesome venue for the tourney. By the finals, the blue takes over and the house is rocking. I was at the '93 tournament where UK beat LSU and their Dutch big man to win the title while a blizzard raged outside.

I went to Tampa in 2009, New Orleans in 2003, Atlanta in 2006.

2009 left a bad taste in my mouth, haven't been back.

Wonder why they haven't used the Hawks arena for the sect?

The Hoover Met suck balls cock hairy arse.

Nashville is great and should get baseball too. If they insist keeping baseball in "Birmingham," at least play the damn game at Regions in actual Birmingham

I'd like to see a Atlanta - NOLA - st. louis rotation.

At least every 3 years someones school will be very close by.
