It should be in Birmingham every year just so we can watch LSU fans melt on here like they do over the baseball tournament
In UAB's 8500 seat arena?

The SEC baseball tournament is in Birmingham?

No in the BJCC
Seats 17,600 for sporting events.
It's hosted the SEC tournament 4 times in the past and has hosted NCAA Tournament games several times

The Met in Hoover. It's a nice stadium at least.
It should be in Atlanta every year too. They can use the Braves new stadium.

Nashville/Bridgestone Arena is ideal for the SEC Tournament.
The arena is in the middle of a giant/famous bar district.
Plus, it's only 35 minutes from the Kentucky border.

still laughing about the location of the womens basketball championship game. Miss State vs South Carolina. Neutral site lol played in South Carolina. 95% SC fans and only their cheerleaders and band got to take the floor during TV timeouts the entire 4th quarter to work their fans into a frenzy. I bet nobody was aware of that.
It alternates timeouts. One timeout SC pep stuff takes the floor, the next timeout Miss St pep stuff took the floor...even in the 4th. So no, you're wrong.
And who gives a shite if it was held in Greenville? It is women's basketball. Ticket sales are def. a consideration, and like 1,000 people would have been in the stands if it were held elsewhere.
Basically, you're just bitter cuz your team lost to a better team and you're looking for excuses.

New Orleans is good option.
Gives all the UK fans something to do on the early days when the Wildcats aren't playing.

Downtown Birmingham is trying to upgrade, but it is woefully behind the likes of Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans in things to do in the immediate vicinity.
Plus, the BJCC is outdated.

You missed the entire point of the suggestion

Louisville
Louisville would be a great city for it.
On another note, did they ever tear down Freedom Hall? That was probably the worst arena I've ever seen a game in.

Basketball and baseball should be held in Memphis. Centrally located, no distinct advantage to any team. Football should rotate between Atlanta, New Orleans, Dallas.

I'm pretty sure it's still used in conjunction with the Kentucky Expo Center - trade shows, concerts, etc
Back to topic, what about Charleston? Nashville is a damn good host though

I'd love for them to play it in Atlanta at Philips Arena once every few years, especially after they finish the massive renovation.
The ACC did it a few years ago and it was a fantastic atmosphere.

I've been to the Tournament in Nashville, Atlanta (Georgia Dome), and New Orleans.
I like New Orleans and Atlanta the best in terms of the location. The problem with Atlanta is that the Georgia Dome is the world's worst venue for basketball. I don't understand why the Tournament can't be played at Philips Arena in Atlanta. It would be a way better venue, and Atlanta is better than Nashville in my opinion.
I missed the year it was in Tampa... but my wife went and said she liked it a lot.
I would like to go to St. Louis next season just to see what it is like.
I would prefer to see more variety than just Nashville 9 out of 11 years.

Why not really rotate it around: St Louis, New Orleans, Houston, Birmingham, Atlanta, Orlando, Nashville/Knoxville, Greenville and/or Charleston? Almost everyone gets a turn to host it and you get to travel to some pretty cool towns. Don't bitch about one venue being on one end of the footprint and not central, nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to go. It should rotate every year so that isn't always an issue. It's always going to be closer to some than others. Having it in the same place year after year grows old after a while. Even for football. Rotate it around.

Not to mention that if the SEC tries to rotate out of Atlanta, the ACC will try to jump in before the ink is dry.

Men's Tournament should rotate between
Nashville
Memphis
New Orleans
Atlanta
Women's Tournament should rotate between the smaller cities/arenas in
Greenville
Duluth
Little Rock
Southaven
I went to Tampa in '09 - outside of MSU winning the tournament, the whole thing sucked. Almost no one in attendance. St. Louis is at least closer to Kentucky.

I've been to SEC tourneys in Birmingham, Memphis (pigamid), Atlanta, New Orleans, and Nashvegas.
Birmingham was too long ago to really compare. But I got to sit next to Hugh Durham for a couple of games so that was cool for a teenager who loves hoops.
Memphis was really fun because it was during the time when Kentucky actually had some competition in play and fan support.
Atl, NO, and Nashville all had their good and bad points. Atl has plenty of seats so it wasn't too hard to get some scalped tickets for a good price, but you had to make sure your seats weren't a mile away from the court. Not much to do right around the dome though.
NO had plenty of seats (was in super dome) so same as ATL there. But with the quarter just down the street, there was plenty to do even after the late game.
Nash/Bridgestone is smaller so tix were harder to come by and more expensive. But every seat is pretty good. Plenty to do around it also.
NO was probably my favorite of the ones to go to. But not for any reasons I would admit online.
