Has anyone been to the SEC basketball tournament in multiple locations? I like Nashville and think it seems like a good place to hold the annual event (hopefully I can go some year), but I'm wondering how it compares to previous locations.

I believe Nashville is set to host six of the next eight years (along with one each in St. Louis and Tampa which seems a bit random). Kind of surprising to not have Atlanta in the mix, but maybe the SEC wants to spread the events around and obviously the SEC's biggest annual event (SECCG) is held in Atlanta.

I have been to it in Nashville 4 or 5 times, ATL 3 times and Tampa the weekend it was there in 09.

I am in Tampa all the time and like the area and arena but not many people were at that one.

Nashville is the best location and arena. GA Dome is way too big.

Should be on a Nashville/New Orleans rotation with maybe an Atlanta or Houston thrown in every now and then

I'd give anything for Louisville to bid for the SEC Tournament. The city has the means to host it (it has hosted multiple NCAA Tournament rounds in both the Yum Center and Freedom Hall) but because the University of Louisville has the scheduling rights and personnel they won't ever bid for it as long as they're the primary tenant. The Gardens hosted it for several years early on but it's also in no shape to host either.

It's really unfortunate honestly that the only "neutral" city that could host it in the state of Kentucky won't. '93 was the last time it was in the state of Kentucky.

Tampa and St. Louis are too big of outliers imo. They are too difficult to get to for the conference as a whole.

It should rotate between New Orleans, Memphis, and Nashville.

Is New Orleans really that much more convenient than Tampa?

I'm still laughing about the location of the womens basketball championship game. Miss State vs South Carolina. Neutral site lol played in South Carolina. 95% SC fans and only their cheerleaders and band got to take the floor during TV timeouts the entire 4th quarter to work their fans into a frenzy. I bet nobody was aware of that.

The thing is, Kentucky fans are going to travel anywhere in the South for the SEC Tournament. So I don't know that location really matters in that regard.

It just seems kind of funny that the tournament rotates all the way down to Florida and all the way out to Missouri but won't see Kentucky.

LSU fans will tell you the football, baseball, and basketball championships should be played in New Orleans every year.

The other fans of SEC schools want tickets too.

Because Nashville is so hard for us to get to.

Like I said, UK fans showing up will almost never be an issue at the SEC Tournament wherever you rotate it. It's definitely a case of keep it out of Kentucky so the UK fans have to spend money on lodging though.

It should be in Birmingham every year just so we can watch LSU fans melt on here like they do over the baseball tournament

I think they should keep it in Nashville permanently. Maybe having New Orleans host once in a while but I think Nashville is perfect
