There was no mention of Ole Miss. Maybe State should concentrate on on field performance instead of prayers of an NCAA bailout.

So the NCAA is going to waste more money to investigate the same activity involving the same people, just at a different school. A school that had, to be generous, less success on the field as a result of the conduct and did not benefit at all. Me thinks you're reaching here.

I don't think anybody suggested there would be. What was expected was how they would deal with Saunders and the wording of that.

Expect your NOA this quarter

Not sure what that has to do with anything or me.

not saying you won't get a slap on the wrist but that will not be why. the ncaa punishes people all the time for the wrong doings of a prior regime

Already have.. LOL! And the coach just got the hardest punishment he could have gotten. Show Clause... for 8 year!

You will get your NOA this quarter.

For the ones talking about the UNC getting away with that fraud..

Delayed until after signing day

Interesting. So then if it's just applicable to ULL why is it on the Rant and not the MSB again?

Everybody here knows you've busted out the Jergens for this one and the possibility of it involving Ole Miss. At least own up to it.

You couldn't be more wrong. But you keep fighting that good fight. You working a lot harder on this Sunbelt academic fraud than Mullen works on the recruiting trail. I'm sure it'll play off

Short story. Saunders and the ACT fraud was found during the ongoing investigation at UM. From there, they went to ULL. ULL named exactly where the NCAA started with this... Ole Miss. Ole Miss even had Lawyers present at meeting of the ULL investigation

What was up in the air is what they would do with Saunders.

I wouldn't run my mouth until you see what punishment OM gets.

About 70% of the country is pissed right now because the SEC keeps winning the MNC.

If you don't think these are political decisions you are fooling yourself.

Agree. Here are some quotes from the report:

quote:

This case began in December 2013 when the enforcement staff contacted the institution to request interviews with then-assistant coach (former assistant football coach) and a football student-athlete (student-athlete 1), a transfer from another member institution. The enforcement staff interviewed the former assistant football coach and student-athlete 1 about events that took place while that assistant was employed by another member institution and that institution recruited student-athlete

This started at OM and leaked to ULL. NCAA asked Saunders about events that happened at OM.

quote:

. During those interviews, the enforcement staff believed the former assistant football coach may have known of or may have been involved in NCAA rules violations concerning academic issues while at another member institution.

While at OM, Saunders was involved in NCAA rule violations.

quote:

During his employment at a previous member institution, the former assistant football coach developed a relationship with a test administrator for a national college entrance exam provider at a rural Mississippi high school (high school).

And how was I wrong? Saunders was hit hard. The NCAA stated clearly that the University is responsible for their coach's action.

That's setting up the whole, "but but.. the AD is gone.. the coach is gone.. the .. .. the.."

The UNIVERSITY is still responsible.

Ms Paper reporting on it

LINK

quote:

Ole Miss became linked to the NCAA investigation into Saunders and Louisiana-Lafayette when NCAA enforcement staff interviewed Saunders and a football player on Dec. 16, 2013. Legal counsel for Ole Miss was also part of the interview.

quote:

the enforcement staff was testing information that suggested Saunders knew of, or had been involved in, NCAA rules violations of an academic nature while employed at Ole Miss
