I disagree. As well as they are recruiting they will be more than competitive. What is different is that nearly any school in the SEC-W on any given year can win it all.

We need Florida to get a coach our teams can actually beat.

I'm thinking Derek Dooley.

Better re-think that. Your coach is the only one in the conference who has an 0-fer against Dooley.

I'm good with that. The SEC West is going to be stacked for the foreseeable future.

As long as Bama is competitive and has a chance to win every game then I'm good.

That shirt must have been left over from Miami.

Old news but I was thinking...
How many 7mil per annum jobs are there in the real world? He's not curing cancer, building a rocket or CEO of Microsoft...he's a friggin coach. 7mil a year, yeah he better win. He needs to man up, quit his bitchin, and smile more on payday. Most importantly he needs to be grateful to UA alum that are paying for his lakehouse.

This was a planned little tantrum, like all of his are, to get attention. He planned it out Saturday night and waited patiently for a reporter to queue him up.

It worked too. All of the dumb bros on Birmingham radio ate it up and played the sound clip over and over.

The only problem is most other people just roll their eyes at it these days.

He could take the orange pants back out of the closet.

I can remember the Shula years when just being competitive in a big game was reason to celebrate.

Disagree. He is still the best recruiter in the game, and Alabama will likely be the most talented team in the country as long as he is in Tuscaloosa. Sometimes, however, extremely talented teams don't gel, highly recruited prospects don't pan out, or there's simply a lack of leadership on a team. Occasionally, as you've seen this year, less talented teams gel very well, upperclassmen take over teams, and teams that shouldn't be outstanding simply are.

Alabama's team is not as good this year as it has been. But Saban's teams will always have the talent to be championship contenders.

I really believe the man is just not a happy camper. This seems to be his nature and he just needs to realize he's probably in the best situation of just about any coach in the nation. Hell, enjoy the game more and realize you have fame and fortune in hand...lighten up!

+1 on the $7m a year shut up and stop whining posts. He can be a bit sanctimonious at times.

I will agree with Saban on one thing though. The players showed as much emotion after the Collins pick as I have seen this year. The team might not be playing great football right now but at least they are playing hard.

He's actually looking after Sims.

Sims has very fragile confidence and Saban doesn't want the asshat fans destroying it.

Contrast that with him yelling his arse off at McCarron all the time.

A good coach will adjust his coaching style to the player. If Saban yelled at Sims the way he did McCarron Sims might break down crying and it would just make him worse, not better.

Sims hearing how much he sucks and how bad the team sucks will make him and the team worse and Saban knows this.

Did I see Harvey Updyke sneaking around Saban's house last night?

Bama fans can deny it all they want, but if the powers at Texas hadn't screwed up Mack Brown's departure so badly, Nick would have taken the Texas job. He could have gotten big money to rebuild the program and retire after about 5 years.

Something is seriously wrong with this team. I dunno if it's Kiffin, Sims or just the onset of tDecline, but I am not looking forward to A&M, MSU, or Auburn. Or LSU and UT for that matter.

I think it is a combination of a weak O-line and a QB with no real experience in SEC type games. Sad to say it but I am worried about the matchup with our secondary this week for sure.

He can do that anyway!
