You mean like three Super Bowl winning QBs?

How many true stars come through Alabama?
Alabama has 7 players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame - which is more than Texas.

Yeah, after they left Alabama in a totally different age. No need to be defensive about it. Texas is a bigger state with a shite ton more money and gets a lot more attention. FWIW, Alabama has about tapped out the attention it can draw considering it's in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

It will be ignored and he will move on.

But you dismissing a former Investivgative Reporter is kind if silly, probably because you did not know that was his job for 15 to 20 years.
agreed, far too many people have trouble realizing that Finebaum was/is an excellent journalist and was for years. His radio show is what pays the bills and he maximizes his profit on the niche he's created better than anyone. People that take that show literally and don't realize he intentionally stirs the pot because it boosts his ratings are so ridiculous. Many people also don't realize that he's not, in fact, an Alabama fan. He's a Tennessee grad from Memphis . I remember in the late 90s and early 00s he trolled the shite out of Alabama fans on a daily basis.

And they'd have more notoriety if they'd come from Texas. Just like Chipper Jones would be a living legend if he'd played for the Yankees.

It's not a troll. It goes without saying, considering my degree is from the state, that the limitations apply to us too.
Texas vs. Alabama (states) isn't a contest.

Lots of jealousy and hurt feelings in here. I know in 2007 you were all posting that Saban would jump at the next job that came available etc etc. Just admit you were wrong and he loves being at Bama. Its OK to be wrong sometimes.

You are disregarding the effect that the BS negative reporting of his leaving Miami had on him and his family.
I was all over this, I stated that IMHO, Mrs Saban wanted to live in Austin over Tuscaloosa and Saban was ok with it as long as tge Texas folks could keep it under wraps until the end of the season.
Then word leaked out that Mrs Saban was looking at houses in Austin, and all shyt broke lose.
Saban loses a game he could have won with a FG kick from the 10 yard line, something smelled fishy there to me, it just didn't add up.
Then when Mack Brown learned Saban was prett much the reason he was being forced out he balked on his retirement.
That is when Nick changed directions and decided to stay at Bama.
The 7 million a year was then agreed on and IMHO Saban will retire at Bama in about 7 years.
I don't see him coaching past 70.

Possibly. But there's one thing they wouldn't have had they gone to Texas instead of Alabama - a national championship ring. Since 1971, Alabama has won 7 national championships. Compare that to Texas who has just 1.

Neither is Kentucky vs Texas but you're going to seriously argue that Texas' basketball program gets more attention. Come on. Its a weak effort dude

Maybe, just maybe after that Texas horseshite from last year folks will finally realize the man will retire from Bammer.
I always felt that way; however, I don't remember hearing even rumors about any of those other schools going after him. Regardless, the only way I ever thought Saban would leave Alabama would be to go back to the NFL and prove he could win there. At this point in his career, though, I don't see that happening anymore either.

Hard to win an NC starting from scratch, even for Saban. Even harder to do it in the Big FAIL conference
Saban in Austin would recruit well, real well, you know it and I know it. Then he gets that extra padded conf schedule that would be like playing the MAC w/ an NFL team.
But even being the greatest recruiter in the "milky way" hasn't guaranteed him crystal every year, .. risk ||| reward

Saban could recruit well at Florida International.

As they say, EVERYTHING's bigger in Texas. Salaries are bigger and loud mouth boosters are bigger too. They probably shot themselves in the foot during the Saban negotiations - then other really good coaches balked and they had to settle for their 5th or 6th choice. Texas football just ain't what Texas folks think it is.
