I believe him. Saban lives breathes eats shits football 24x7. I mean he was already worried about the 2004 season beginning, whether or not Mauck and Clayton were returning, while he was holding the crystal trophy after winning the 2003 NC game. I hate to say it, but he's actually at the perfect program.
After what went down at LSU the past year, I have realized that even if Saban did not go to Miami, LSU would not have done what it took to retain Saban for the long run. He would have accepted another offer that LSU would have been unable, or unwilling, to match.

Some people feel like work keeps them alive as well as family. He is more than able to keep the two happy at the same time as well. He is driven to work, what's he going to do if he retires? sit there and wait to die...

Let's see

If you believe a word out of Saban's mouth, you are as gullible as a 17 year old recruit.
quote:
You know if he retires Ms. Terry is going to have certain expectations. No wonder Little Nicky is scared.
quote:
Sounds like a psychopath But good, let him coach into the 80s and run Bama into the ground. Bama won't have the balls to fire him once the mediocrity starts
quote:
He's gotta be worried about all the trailer parks that will get burned down in Alabama, also, I would think.
Not to mention you've posted about a dozen times in a thread about Saban not retiring. You scared

Maybe the cracks in Saban's armor aren't showing and vulnerable yet, but the shine is definitely starting to wear off. Teams aren't scared of Saban or Bama anymore. The good teams no longer dread lining up against Bama, they look forward to the test. Saban and Bama are still in good enough shape to win titles, but that doesn't mean you haven't peaked. It's only going to get harder from here on out. Parity is back.
Dawwww....little buddy. Don't worry, Auburn will get over to the East before Saban retires.
And I will take a 70 year old Saban before I take a 40 year old nobody who claims to be the next up and comer. And you would too...

"I am not going to be the coach of the Miami Dolphins" "I am not going to be the coach at Alabama"
And those teams threw stuff at him that he couldn't refuse.
1. He wanted to try the pros, and they threw the money at him.
2. He tried the Pros and it didn't fit him, and Alabama gave him the opportunity.
I honestly think he did the right thing in those situations. He was in a hard position and really shouldn't discuss it with the public. In all honestly, its not the fans business until he has made a decision. And don't give me the crap about paying his salary.

No I wasn't I was making a factually correct statement. Bryant was 69 when he passed and was three seasons removed when he won back-to back titles. So he won a title when he was older than Saban is today...and Bowden was 5 years older than Saban is now.
You seem unduly concerned about Saban's retirement

66 is could considered late 60's....70 is considered 70's......How is that a false statement?

No but you show up in every Saban retirement thread lecturing us about the inevitable fall and clucking about how the cracks are showing....just after we just played for title and won the title year before. I guess a last second loss in the title game is "cracks in the program".
There is no evidence whatsoever that Saban is slowing down anytime soon.

Sounds identical to his comments just before he left for the Dolphins.

Parity is back.
Parity after Bama, yes, buy look at the standings in the SEC last year. We finished 2nd in the league and we (along with UF, LSU, UGA, UT, A&M) were all within a game of each other. The drop off from Bama to the next team is precipitous.
I think that will improve this year because we've got better QB play in the league, but NOBODY has the insane depth that Bama has right now and we'll see that come November as teams fall by the wayside.
It sucks but it is what it is, and to say parity is back is inaccurate IMO.

I get that argument. But I knew the sabans well enough 15 years ago that I knew he spent very little time with his family.
Ol Terry is very happy being the rich wife I might add

People, both alabama fans and other, have an amazing ability to believe Saban was unstoppable early in his career even though every team needed breaks to win it all.
2009 - rocky block, auburn game, etc.
2011 - home loss, needs chips to fall to make it into title
2012 - home loss, ending of SEC Champ was very tight
2015 - home loss, Bama probably should have lost that title game ( and should have probably won this one so its a wash)
just saying that the program has been very steady in performance, a couple bounces here and there and its a title, a couple don't go our way and its a loss. Same as it ever was under Saban

My God LSU fans are a bunch of scared pussies. Saban isn't retiring soon. And even if he coached into his 80's. he'd stil win national championships, because kids would want to play for the greatest college football coach of all time.
