Saban suggested a 10-game SEC schedule, for example, plus two Power 5 nonconference opponents during the regular season

13 game schedule.

9 conference games
1 or 2 P5 games
1 or 2 G5 games
1 FCS

Simple, IMO.

Sounds like Saban wants Auburn in the east too. Let's the Iron Bowl and TSIO gimme win live on.

One condition, go to a rotating schedule. No permanent opponents. Maybe even do away with divisions. Top 2 play for the championship.

13 game schedule.

Are we getting rid of conference championships or adding a game to the season?

I'm ok with a 9 or 10 game conf schedule with additional power 5 teams as non conf with maybe one cupcake.

I think the conference championship games would need to go if that happened.

I think you could get a consensus if the regular season schedule was tougher across the board and then conference champ games would not be needed to determine top four.

Nothing is stopping Alabama from playing more power 5 games.

How does Auburn to the East allow for the Iron Bowl and TSIO both to live on?

Think it is a good idea in a lot of ways.

Kind of bad for South Carolina. We play Clemson every year, and try to play a North Carolina team as well. If we tried to continue that (and we really do need to play a NC team for recruiting) well shoot. That's ALL our games spoken for every year.

Also not so hot for Florida, Georgia, and Kentucky. Though I'm not sure any of those schools have a compelling need to have another game past their particular OOC rivals.

That's what he's been saying for years. And every SEC member votes that shite down.

With a 10 game schedule Alabama could have two permanent cross division opponents, and two rotating.

Because, like most people, Saban realizes the SEC peaked 2 years ago.

Agreed. A 12 game schedule without an FCS game is the same as a 13 game with one. And adding a 13th game provides so much flexibility for teams with permanent rivals in OOC.

Well now that Ole Miss isn't diluting the talent pool with their shitty cheating, SEC dominance should return, IMO.

Truth. Saban can talk but I still see 3 rent-a-wins on our future schedules.
