I'd love a 10 game conference schedule. We'd get to play the other division more than once a blue moon, and it would finally force UGA to drop this antiquated and stupid Georgia Tech game.

why do you need a rent a win FCS game?
So Vandy, OM, MSU, UK, Mizzou etc. can go Bowling...
2-6 in conference with 4 pansies gets you to B'ham/Shreveport etc...
:smh:

Exactly.
Saban doesn't really want ten conference games, he is just talking because he does want 9.
If we do go to 16 teams, we will have to divide into four divisions.

One condition, go to a rotating schedule. No permanent opponents. Maybe even do away with divisions. Top 2 play for the championship.
Been saying that too. I like this!

It's already been discussed on here.....no divisions creates more of a headache with all the needed tie-breakers than divisions/pods do.

Saban ain't skert!...bring the shite on!!!

Saban has NOTHING to do with that. There is a long standing school policy that prohibits them from playing those in-state schools. Was there LONG before he came. Will be there LONG after he is gone.
so youre saying that the whole institution is pussy and not just Saban. got it. but if you think they wouldnt change any rule if lord saban desired youre an idiot.

I'm all for tougher schedules, but that doesn't require a 10-game SEC schedule and he didn't imply that it did. I understand that FCS schools rely on a big payday playing AT some P5 school that they know will annihilate them, but that practice is going to end sooner or later. Sorry, Sam Houston State, you're done. But a 10-game conference schedule really limits what you can do OOC. I'd love to see A&M vs. Texas again, contrary to most Aggie fans here. But any impetus to start that series up again vanishes if every team must play 10 conference games. UF vs. FSU, UGA vs. GT, USC vs. Clemson I imagine would all go away in favor of easier opponents.
We could get most of what Saban wants with a 9-game conference schedule and eliminating FCS games. I'm thinking Saban doesn't see it this way because Bama doesn't have a traditional tough OOC opponent.

Then make it 11 SEC league games for the 2 teams meeting in Atlanta. Pretty much guarantees no one from the SEC makes the playoffs, too many potential losses.

I read on-line an article, I think it was the B10, tossing the idea of a 10 game schedule. This was to prevent the extra H/A game caused with a 9 game schedule.
Yes, this was like a 2013 (or so) article.

The ADs at the great majority of those schools will not even accept a phone call from the Alabama AD.
Sure they would. Alabama would just have to agree to a home and home, which Saban doesn't like.
Georgia is playing GT and Notre Dame.
Florida is playing FSU and Michigan.
South Carolina is playing Clemson and NC State.
LSU is playing BYU and Syracuse.
It's not that hard.

He's right.
Plus he knows this eliminates the chances for flukes. Alabama might have won the SEC in 2013 if Auburn had to play 2 more conference games. Alabama sure as shite wasn't losing to anyone else.

I really think the rest of the SEC should start an annual game with another Power 5 conference team.
Vandy-Wake Forest (This game was happening for a while)
Tennessee-Virginia Tech
Alabama-West Virginia
Auburn-Oklahoma
LSU-Oklahoma State
Arkansas-TCU (always exciting)
Mizzou-Kansas (duh)
Texas A&M-Texas
Ole Miss-Baylor (how perfect)
Mississippi State-Oklahoma State
existing
Georgia-Ga Tech
USCjr-Clemson
Kentucky-Louisville
Florida-Criminoles

...but until that happens, Saban will continue to schedule among the weakest OOC schedules in the SEC on an annual basis, and thank Arkansas for keeping them out of absolute worst place.....

I thought it was Florida that didn't like H/H. ;)

I've been wanting that for a long time!

So of all the games you named, only 2 are non-rivalry home and homes : UGA/ND and LSU/Syracuse.
