yea,he's a real bad dude. Won't play an in-state 1-AA team or Troy,South Ala or UAB. But keeps on playing Mercer,Chattanooga,Western Carolina and Charleston Southern.

Brutal.

Saban only wants what benefits him, which is reasonable. However, it is probably detrimental to everyone else in the short term.

That would be dumb, 2 problems with that.

1) Less games played vs other conferences would cause a drop in SoS for the conference as a whole. Win % of the conference as a whole would skew closer to .500 (for example if all games played were conference games conference win % would be exactly .500)

Conference SoS/win % are criteria for committee bowl selection.

2) Less bowl eligible SEC teams which = less SEC money.

Sure Saban can burn through a tougher schedule, but it would hurt the SEC as a whole. The lower tier SEC teams that currently are making bowls at 6-6 and 7-5 would make bowls less often.

Well this will most likely hurt the non P5 schools.

This doesn't work individually. He's proposing a CFB wide plan for all P5 schools to do this.

Everyone would schedule the exact same, perhaps even mandated.

I think it will make those schools have their own division and give them actual chances to win titles, the way it should be. MTSU and UTEP should be playing for their own titles the way 1AA and D2 do. The NCAA can pay them a subsidy if they want to act like they care about promoting and subsidizing those schools, but we don't have to have shitty games against them.

I don't know why people feel like Troy and Kent State have some inherent right to play blowout games every year against Ohio State and LSU. It sucks. Nobody wants it.

Why do you need an FCS rent-a-win game?

With a 10 game schedule Alabama could have two permanent cross division opponents, and two rotating.

With a 8/9/10 game schedule, Auburn CAN STAY IN THE WEST!

One condition, go to a rotating schedule. No permanent opponents. Maybe even do away with divisions. Top 2 play for the championship.

10 game conference schedule and the top 2 play for the sec championship? Talk about trying to kill a teams chance to make the playoff.

But the 4 Eastern teams with an in-sate rival still have 1 LESS game on the schedule for a really good match up or a rent-a-win. The ONLY advantage they have is their opponent is a P5 team.

The 6 win requirement for Bowl eligibility is stopping Alabama from playing MOST power 5 teams. The ADs at the great majority of those schools will not even accept a phone call from the Alabama AD. The sumbitch might be attempting to schedule a game with them. YOU do KNOW that it takes TWO to schedule a game. Don't YOU?

Saban has NOTHING to do with that. There is a long standing school policy that prohibits them from playing those in-state schools. Was there LONG before he came. Will be there LONG after he is gone.

If true, which I doubt, the only reason could be vindictiveness.

I do agree with Saban, as most fans do, on a 9 game conference schedule.

Yeah, LSU plays a tough OOC schedule.
Plus LSU would never put up with a 9 game SEC schedule, let alone a 10 game schedule.

LSU's dream season is to play a round robin of instate Louisiana schools all being played in Tiger Stadium and at night.
