Why? There isn't much the bama admins would say no to Saban about. He has it made.

Don't act surprised. Alabama is a good gig but deep down you know Texas is a little better. The only reason Alabama is better right now is because they have the best coach in the country and would double his pay to keep him if necessary! If (and its a big if) Saban ever left for Texas, you would see.

Recruiting? Have you checked the recruiting rankings over the last 5 years? You can't do better than number 1, so maybe Texas could potentially equal what Alabama is doing, but better simply isn't possible.

Maybe the head coach has a little something to do with recruiting???? Just a little?

Texas would have no trouble recruiting and the alumn have far more funds than Bama.

You're dumb. You can't do better than the #1 class which Saban has done 4/5 years and bama alums would match any offer Texas made.

Texas has way more money. I think it would be fun to watch them try to bankrupt Bama

Texas having their own network is burden not a plus. We all know how much Saban loves the media.

Texas isn't gonna offer a price that bama couldn't match. No way Texas offers 10 million a year.
ETA: Alabama is not hurting for money. They realize the money and prestige Saban brings. No way they let him walk.

nothing against Bama since it is a top notch job but Texas is the best job in the country. They have their own network, they are the #1 school in the #1 football state in the country, they have limitless resources and the most income of any football program, they have a patient fanbase, and the school offers the combination of a pretty easy route to a national championship and recognition as a premiere program

Texas is the #1 job in college football. Does that mean Saban wants to go there? Not necessarily. He obviously has a great thing going at Alabama and can get more than 10 million a year out of the REC if he really want it.

If this is included, of course. As a pure job Alabama is an elite gig. Except that you can't walk across campus without grown men offering sexual favors, which gets old.

Austin is one of the top cities in America so you could insert every single SEC city except MAYBE Nashville in place of Tuscaloosa and this would apply. The area of Tuscaloosa Saban lives in is as nice as most of the areas the other SEC coaches live in anyway so he isn't having to deal with any "lunatic fringe" anyway.

but the pressure is there none the less, Texas fans will be content with a title every now and then as long as they feel relevant, Bama fans will reach the spoiling point soon where seasons where they don't go to BCS (playoff whatever) will be seen as a failure, yes there are non-lunatics in the Tide fanbase and certain areas of T-Town, but in general the Bama fanbase isn't and won't be near as grounded as the UT fanbase, less pressure in his older years, why wouldn't he do it?

Face it. If it came down to an all out bidding war, Texas wins with money left over.

They'd make that Bama arse quit.

I'd live homeless on the streets of Austin before I'd even step foot in that cesspool of Tuscaloosa.

True, but that money comes with a price. Texas boosters want access to the program and Mack gives it to them. Saban would cut that out real quick.

Saban leaving...for a worse job???
I hope gumps don't really believe that.

Texas talent > Alabama talent

Austin > Tuscaloosa X one million

You really think that Nick Saban has a life off the football field? You can yap all day long about Austin being better than Tuscaloosa, but can you really see Saban telling his staff in Austin, "Hey, guys, we've got to cut practice short today because I have to get home and get ready to take Terry to the opening of that art exhibit tonight."

And as far as Texas talent>Alabama talent, why the frick would that even matter? Try to keep up...Saban only has five 2014 commits right now from the state of Alabama. The rest are from all over the country. He didn't have to be in Austin to pull QB David Cornwell from Oklahoma.

What will really be funny will be, after Bama pays Saban 10 mil a year, to watch Les Miles milk an extra 3 mil a year from LSU.

People who think Austin is literally heaven on earth are gonna be really disappointed when the actually visit it. It's a great city, but Christ some of y'all make it out to be Vegas or LA. It's neither.
