Personally I have always thought Texas was the best job in the country and living in Austin for the last 18 months has only cemented that belief.

I imagine that there's lots of neutral fans living in Tuscaloosa, Eugene, South Bend, and Columbus who would say the same thing about those jobs as well.

Bama is 78/22 in favor of Bama, while Texas is only 69/31 in favor of Texas.

Texas, I am disappoint.

Recruiting? Have you checked the recruiting rankings over the last 5 years? You can't do better than number 1, so maybe Texas could potentially equal what Alabama is doing, but better simply isn't possible.

The only reason I can see anyone saying Bama is a better job than Texas would be due to the current state of both programs.

And that's from a non-biased, neutral observer. Recruits: UT. Ability to win conference on the reg: UT. City: Austin.

Yes. Recruiting.

Houston, Dallas, San Antonio and Austin vs Birmingham.

Competition in surrounding areas:

OU, TAMU vs UGA, FSU, LSU, Florida.

You wake up every single day in a MUCH better position at Texas than you ever could be at in Alabama.

It's Texas' own fault they kept with oh Brownie for so long when Alabama went out and paid up to get Saban. It doesn't change a thing that Texas is still the better job.

I agree, and I'm not trying to flame Bama or anything - but...

Texass (and I hate them with a passion, more than Bama even) has or can get money that Bama can't even dream of. Right now it's sitting in 'potential', but with the right coach (and they seem to think Saban is it) the sky is pretty much the limit.

About the ONLY thing Bama would have an advantage over Texas on is conference affiliation, and I'm not so sure Texas won't eventually end up in the SEC.

That said, Bama is a very, very good job. But Texas could easily be better.

Why are we talking about recruiting like you have to recruit from one city in one state? That's the dumbest shite I've ever heard.

So.. You're telling me you want to recruit four surrounding states against FSU, Florida, UGA and LSU over one state with 26 million people and only have to fight OU and Texas A&M for the recruits?

You believe Alabama has the better position? Really?

Exactly. He's being mighty selective. Metro Atlanta arguably produces more talent than anything he listed there. The I-10 corridor from New Orleans to Tallahassee, same. All of this within a 5 hour drive from Tuscaloosa. The high end talent in the 250 mile radius of Tuscaloosa is on par with anywhere in the country. And let's not pretend like Texas battles 2 other schools for recruits. Every big time program in the country recruits the shite out of Texas.
