Well the alternative is that Saban is just a POS human being that is gleefully denying a college kid the chance to transfer to where he wants to.
They can't comprehend that. They are bred to believe Bama football is all there is in life and everyone should sacrifice everything for it. They don't realize the kid would be stuck somewhere he doesn't want to be just because he bought into some BS Saban told him to get his way.

If Saban can run a player off whenever he pleases without penalty then a player should be able to leave when they want without penalty.

And you breed to believe that Bama football and all it's followers are pure evil and it is your job to make sure the world knows it and talk about it 24/7.

Not sure who is worse.

Prove him wrong. We have an advantage in all three areas he cited. The only thing lacking has been the right coach to get the machine humming. The peripheral advantages definitely exist.

But if Saban being a smooth tactician is the dumbest thing you've ever read...

Smith wanted to transfer to Baylor which would have been fine. Then he wanted to transfer to Miami, which would have been fine. Then he wanted to transfer to UGA, which would have been fine he'd just have to sit a year per SEC rules.

This kid knows a lot of inside scoop on Bama, uh, recruiting, etc. Saban might want to be careful lest Bama ends up like Ole Miss.

The proof is that you have nothing to base this on other than unfounded claims. Get over yourself.

He can leave Rabern - he can transfer to over 100+ D1 programs and play within a month. He just can't transfer to another conference team because the SEC rules don't allow it.

You do know that the SEC teams voted to put the transfer rule in place for the conference, right?

Do y'all fans of the Big Programs know how silly you look to the rest of us when you have thousands of posts on a college football message board and still try to paint other fans as being too invested in their teams?

Seriously, people look completely laughable and/or hypocritical when they go off on their obliviously self-righteous diatribes. And, yes, that includes Bama, LSU, UT, UGA, UF, etc etc fans too.

All of whom have had success since UGA last won a title and we still win at recruiting. You get my point?

REC - SEC office in Birmingham - SEC refs in Bama's pocket - Saban/Mark Emmertt best buddies - SEC giving Bama primo schedules for years - SEC head of officials a Bama grad.

Nah. I live around Bama fans and see how stupid they are and act about Bama football 24/7. They literally run around trying to act like Bama winning a game is something they accomplished in life. Every time Bama, the fans, Saban, a player, etc does something that the rest of the world makes fun of, Bama fans run in in packs telling each other it's not yall it's everyone else, no matter how low it goes.

Just like this, yall think Smith is the bad guy and deserves to be punished and have his stuff threw in the trash just because he wants to leave Bama. It's not a coincidence that stuff like this always involves Bama and their fans (and it not because Bama won games).

Okay, whatever you say, Slappy. Academic rankings, best college towns, and geographical recruiting advantages have all been covered around here ad nauseam. Georgia has been ahead of Bama in those rankings in every instance.

You act more stupid about Bama football than 99.9% of Bama fans.

Your point doesn't negate Tyler's. His point was that the coaching is what has been missing and would be the piece that could propel our recruiting even further up the ladder, and he is correct.

BTW...your list isn't correct unless you're really saying LSU has better academics than Bama. (Hint: They don't, so your list is shite).

Oh, the SECrant rankings. Got it. What does the trophy look like?

Born in Georgia, hate that gnat infested area that Athens is in. No thanks.

And then they hired Muschamp and lost their foothold. While Meyer was there, they were Bama's peer and, in some cases, superior.

quote:

So does Auburn

Auburn doesn't have a geographical recruiting advantage over Bama and it's arguable if Auburn, AL is better than T-Town.

quote:

So does LSU

Arguable geographic advantage over Bama, don't think BR is better than T-Town, academics aren't better

quote:

So does Tennessee

You shitting me? Tennessee's biggest disadvantage is a noticeable lack of decent in-state recruits to subsist off of.

quote:

So does Ohio State

This is the only one that can make a reasonable claim and... 2014 happened.

quote:

So does Clemson

Arguable as to whether Clemson, SC is better than T-Town but Clemson still managed to go toe-to-toe with Bama in the national title game in January so... doesn't really disprove my point.

As for UGA, we are the flagship school of one of the top 5 talent producing states in the country, we border and have strong footholds in states like North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida, Athens is damn near unanimously revered as one of if not the best college town in the country, and our academics are only behind Florida and Vandy in conference.

We hit our ceiling with Richt at consistently being good but not great. If a Saban disciple and UGA alumn working his dream job can come in and blow the lid off, that's going to be a hard train to stop.

For a similar comparison, there's a reason Saban politics so hard against Harbaugh. He could do at Michigan what Meyer has already done at Ohio State and what Kirby could do at Georgia.
