There was no other choice. There is no way Bama could stand for the exodus of players who want to be on Kirby's team.

We did the same thing to players who wanted to go to Miami to play for Richt. Maybe not the best way to phrase this...

Did you miss Kirby's quote from March where he said he was restricting transfers to other SEC teams and Miami. He said he was not going to allow players to leave and follow their previous coach. Other than Kirby not being the head coach at Bama how exactly is this situation any different?

Well for one Kirby didn't throw his belongings in the trash can that included a photo of a deceased teammate.

You think Saban did that? Pretty sure it was a low level staffer or a teammate that saw Smith as a sell-out. Not classy, but understandable. Should have thrown it in a box and left it at the front desk.

Your players are actually challenging that stance to try to go play for our coach.

From a tactical standpoint, Saban can't do UGA and Kirby any favors. Our combination of academics, college town, and geography relative to recruiting hotbeds make it so that if we ever achieve a high level of success (think national title) then shite gets really hard for Bama. Saban knows Kirby can wake the sleeping giant so I don't blame him for doing what he can to at least not help the process along.

Saban knows that if he gives Kirby an inch, he will take a mile because Saban taught him how to do it.

Personally, if we represented any kind of competition to Bama, I'd be a bit concerned that Saban is actually phlegmatic about this. If players are leaving because they don't see themselves getting enough quality time in the depth chart -- and I suspect that's a huge reason for most -- then the crop of freshmen and/or the potential 2017 class might be monstrous.

Well the alternative is that Saban is just a POS human being that is gleefully denying a college kid the chance to transfer to where he wants to.

But if Saban being a smooth tactician is the dumbest thing you've ever read...

The reality is that Georgia is just not all that you have it so hyped up to be, or might be. On the other hand, Bama's had no issue with being on top of SEC and contending nationally.
