The P5 needs to act like the pseudo-conference it is and come to terms on universal rules/standards regardless of what those standards are.

That would mean the SEC is forced into nine games.

Saban wanted total control of the organization. If he had had it he would have gotten Drew Brees

Enjoy...

quote:

Brees had significant interest on the table from the Saints. But he wanted to find out if Saban had the same faith in him that (Sean) Payton and Mickey Loomis had in New Orleans. So Brees picked up the phone and called Saban, who told him the Miami team doctors believed Brees had a 25 percent chance to come back and be the same quarterback, or better, that he'd been before the shoulder surgery.

According to the book, Brees said to Saban: "Coach, I know what your doctors believe about me. My question is, what do you believe?''

Wrote Brees: "Nick Saban paused. That was really all I needed to hear. His pause told me everything. 'Well, Drew,' he said, 'I would still love to have you, but I have to trust what our medical people are saying ...' He went on from there, like he was reading from a script. But I was starting to tune out. By then I had all the information I needed. I had made my decision.''

Same with the hurry up offense. He wants the rules changed to help his style of play.

Mofo never quits whining.

SEC is just going to have to have to start allowing satellite camps too.
Exactly. If the rules allow it from the NCAA, the SEC just needs to adjust our rules to be the same.

If people could take Saban's name out of this and look at it objectively, what he is saying is 100% correct

He is totally correct; if he wouldn't complain about every little thing that doesn't go his way, this wouldn't seem like yet another topic Saban is whining about.

The single greatest thing Saban ever did for the state of Louisiana was passing on Drew Brees. Without Brees the Saints draft Leinart and I highly doubt we have a season like 2006 and the Saints are in San Antonio by 2010. So if 21-0 was well worth the cost of this:

Should they eliminate League Officials and have all of them under the control of the NCAA ? It would standardize some of the calls during the year.

Last thing Saban really wants is an even playing field.

YEP!!!

"In the two years that I was here I had a very, very difficult time thinking that I could impact the organization in the way that I wanted to or in the way that I am able to in college. And it was very difficult for me. Because there is a lot of parity in the NFL. There's a lot of rules in the NFL."

Saban finally admits messing up on Drew Brees

If he really wanted equality he would be calling the NCAA out for not punishing his school like they did other schools for the same violations. Til he does that, this is just one more thing to add to the list of things he's cried about over the last few years.

Sadly he cries so much no one ever listens to the few good ideas he ever has.
