A skeptic would say, if you like the NFL stay in it. But he's right.

ETA. Might want to reassess that admissions thing.

it is often not what you say, but how it is said. Saban has become a whiner, he has more advantages than most, then complains about other stuff.

1) Auburn is giving a larger cost of attendance to players than Bama. (Bama will end up just laying more). Waterfalls are Ok.
2) HUNH (he is changing on this)
3) Transfer rule (SEC rule)
4) Satellite camps. (Remember the Saban bump rule).
But oversigning and processing players is OK. Inconsistent drug policies are OK, inconsistent NCAA treatment is OK.

I think the larger issue is that he thinks college football CAN be a level playing field. Schools build flashy complexes and amenities to gain a recruiting advantage. What he is saying is true that the rules should be across the board, but don't bring the "even playing field" argument up. Why don't we tear down every stadium and make them uniform? After all tiger stadium is too loud and that's not an even playing field.

There is so much that should be done. Oregon had limited practice time leading up to national title game because Oregon spring semester had started. Ohio St didn't because their semester had not started.

It was reported on and then downplayed, but its absurd that things like that happen.

Of course you don't hear Helfrich complaining...

The SEC is reigning in their teams.

Other conferences are exploiting the SEC's rules in an attempt to gain ground.

Well, the article says several other SEC coaches feel the exact same way Saban feels about it and those coaches voiced their opinion on the subject as well. WTF won't a journalist quote the other SEC coaches? What does Les/Gary/Steve/Gus/Butch/Bret have to say about the issue?

Saban's voice has the most influence and is the most recognizable. Plus it gives the members of the SECrant a platform(albeit a weak one with no real basis) to blast him...

It never fails. Saban voices his opinion on a topic and the LSU fans all chastise him and go back off.

Hey, a-hole, tell me this, should all the P5 teams raise their admission standards to match Northwestern or Vandy?

Because no matter how logical the subject, as long as Saban makes a statement and the damn journalists print every word that comes out of his mouth, SEC fans will shite all over it even if what Saban says would ultimately benefit the entire conference.

As far as the comments in this thread are concerned, this is the only relevant statement about the situation. Saban could lobby for every team that plays Bama to get a 7pt spot to start the game and rival fans would complain because it was Saban who suggested it.

The guy lands 6 #1 recruiting classes in a row, then when he comes in 2nd, he starts crying about how it isn't fair?

Give me a fricking break. I don't want to read any more crap about Les crying about what's fair or not. Saban is the king of crying.

As a fan of the SEC - I don't want Harbaugh or Franklin in the South using satellite camps to meet protential recruits, evaluate the talent, network with high school coaches, and market their programs during what is considered a dead recruiting period.

The SEC needs to get rid of their rule regarding participation in satellite camps.

This complaint from the HC who used a NCAA loophole to bring in almost a whole new staff to work only in recruiting. bama can afford it. Most schools can not. Competitive advantage bama.

As a fan of the SEC

Don't you think you should want to see real students competing?

In the interest of fairness, shouldn't we all raise our admission standards at least to Vandy's level?

I mean, it isn't really fair that we can recruit one level of student athlete while Vandy has to recruit another, right?

Why? Are you scared Alabama will now forever be ranked #2 in recruiting?

Oh, the inequity, Bama, the inequity.
