Some guy named Tony Roma

That guy was collecting a pay check to sit on the bench. Dobbs would be missing out on his final year. And he doesnt have much in the NFL to look forward too. Hes a college general type QB. He will get back out there fast.

Butch made a bad misjudgment underestimating app st and not running dobbs early. He's an electric runner and would have probably avoided injury because they probably don't need ot. They were flat outcoached all night. Butch just isn't that good imo. Look at last years games where they led. Bad move after bad move.

I agree with everything you said.

Because of sheer unadulterated luck, not skill, against an unranked and outmatched opponent in the opening game of a season where you're supposed to be a "contender" for the first time in over a decade.

Definitely agree trying to not run Dobbs was counter productive

Agreed. First game as well. Shoop is a good one.

on the goal line play he basically took a direct shot to the ribcage. While I know he wears the rib pad thing most QB's wear, it was a nasty hit. I wouldn't be shocked if something broke in there on that hit

Watch him on the ground after the hit & ignore the scramble for the ball. He was in obvious pain & had to be helped to his feet & then stumbled walking off with the help of an OL Vol.

If he has broken ribs, he's likely out for longer than a few weeks. Those things take forever to recover from. I'd say a month, at minimum.

It is when you catch the ball with 1 knee on the ground.

That was a beautiful, perfectly coached, perfectly executed hit. I can see bruised ribs from that hit easily. At least bruised.

UT wont release ANY INJURY STATEMENT unless they have to, you dont want your opponents to know anything...cloak and dagger stuff you know.

From watching on big screen he did appear to be really hurting and Ive had cracked ribs and it takes 2-3 months before all pain is gone. His passing sucks anyway...but he wont run at all with even badly bruised ribs cause the "braintrust" (do they have one in Knoxvegas?) wont risk any serious injury.

Teams know that to beat UT you just stop the run and make Dobbsy try to throw. With UFs secondary it could be a little more difficult.

It looked to me he at least got the wind knocked out of him. I remember the first time that happened to me. I thought I was dying.

That was brutal tackle by the App State kid.
