I will tell you a really good team no one hears from and that is Kevin Harlan & Boomer Esiason. They do the radio broadcast for MNF. They really do an awesome job. If I am working late I get to listen to them on the way home.

He is not bad but MNF is the pinnacle of play by play. Surely they could get someone better

Somebody throw Katherine Webb in front of him and see if he passes the test.

I would truly miss the sound of Verne's voice on Saturday afternoons in the fall

Yeah I have to second the Kevin Harlan appreciation. He's solid on mnf and his NCAA basketball calls were excellent (at least what I heard)

but also sad because Nessler and Blackledge are probably the best duo commentators right now for CFB.

That would make Nessler and Danielson the best commentator group.

Gary is a fantastic color. He and Blackledge are easily the top 2

I'd miss Verne... but he is getting a bit long in the tooth so to speak. Probably time to ease him into second or third tier games.

As long as we don't get stuck with the shitastic announcing crew who deadpanned their way through the amazing Ole Miss/Arkansas game from last year (were they tripping balls on tranquilizers?) I'm OK.

I realize that, but I'd still miss the chemistry Blackledge and Nessler had. Really complimented each other well.

That said, Gary is probably one of the best color commentators out there and really knows his shite.

Sean McDonough was awesome on SEC CBS games in the 1990's.

The one I really miss is Ron Franklin. "Has 5, has 10, he will walk it in".

The contract right now is vastly under valued. Who ever gets it next is going to pay out the arse for it..

Me too but we all know that day is coming. Nessler/Danielson would be an amazing duo.

I just hope it's not Mussberger

I think the Big 3 network #1 spots are bigger deals now, especially NBC since they get primetime SNF.

MNF guys don't even get in on the Super Bowl rotation anymore.

If this is not true, it's the biggest tease ever. I appreciate what Verne has done through the years but it is past time to replace him. Hope the replace Gary too
