This would be an excellent move. I've always thought he did a good job no matter if it was football or basketball.

I love Brad Nessler, but Verne's mispronunciations, misidentifications, and occasional egg salad sandwich burps are as much a part of SEC football Saturdays as bourbon and tailgating.

To give you an idea of how stupid Verne is, when Greg McElroy did that 2 step hop to get the first down vs. Florida in the 2009 beat down, he called it the "Barischnicov" which is the last name of a Russian dancer/choreographer. I assume he has a signature move that at least resembled what Greg McElroy did but regardless, it got worse.
After that, he mentioned hopscotch as "that game we used to play as kids?"

This would be crazy because Nessler also calls CBB games.
Also would be great and bad at the same time. Great because Verne is way past his time, but also sad because Nessler and Blackledge are probably the best duo commentators right now for CFB.
