If you thought our current QB can sling it and has great hair, prepare for Ryan Buchanan....from Jackson Prep in Flowood, MS...about to carry the championship tradition from high school to the nation.

It looks like Georgia's defense will be hit pretty hard after this season. Here is what they lose (without including early departures):

WR - Bennett
Wr - Conley
C - Andrews
RT - Houston
QB - Mason
DT - Johnson
NT - Thornton
DE - Drew
LB - Wilson
LB - Herrera
S - Swann

That is 11 starters. When you go to the 2-deep, you add:

RT - Dantzler
FS - Redd
LT - Beard

Total of 14 in the 2 deep, the majority of which are starters.

eta - Damnit, WG_Dawg...you beat me to it.

We'll absorb the losses on the OL just fine. The DL losses could hurt, but we've got guys playing this year that have done pretty darn well. Our 2 ILBs (and likely 2 OLBs leaving early) will definitely hurt.

The 3 guys you added from the 2 deep won't matter. One is a walkon that doesn't play and another only plays in blowouts.

Hopefully Florida loses everyone.

Seriously though -

Quinton Dunabr - WR - hooray!
Clay Burton - TE - FINALLY
Max Garica - C
Trenton Brown - G
Chaz Green - T
Andre Debose - KR/PR
Dante Fowler - DE (probably to draft)
Darious Cummings - DT
Leon Orr - DT
Mike Taylor - LB
Neiron Ball - LB/DE
Frankie Velez - K
Kyle Christy - P

Unclear on how big a hit that is because of all the unknowns about coaching.

In more detail:

QB - return both Hill and Allen

HB - return all four

WR - lose Kennedy, which is a big loss, but that's the only loss.

TE - lose Clear, but we don't use him all that much.

OL - lose Ogbuehi, Harrison, Compton, and Gramling. You don't replace a 1st round tackle (Ogbuehi). Hopefully, the fact that we redshirt both JUCO 4-stars (Avery Gennesy and Jermaine Eluemunor) means that they're ready to start next season. Zach Ledwik needs to be ready if Mike Matthews goes down next year.

DL - lose Ivan Robinson, who really shouldn't be playing, but because Walker and Henderson aren't stepping up, he basically has to play on a repaired achilles. I'm not counting Tyrell Taylor as a major loss.

LB - lose Baggs and Bass, but is that really a loss? Hilliard should be starting right now, but he dislocated his ankle against South Carolina and our defense hasn't been the same since. SOMEONE has to step up and put Mastrogiovanni on the bench.

CB - lose Everett, who has regressed considerably since the 2012 Alabama game.

Safety - lose Howard Matthews, who can tackle, but can't cover, Floyd Raven, and Clay Honeycutt, who can't tackle or cover.

It will be nice not losing our entire team for once.

I wouldn't even consider Braylon Mitchell an actual starter. How many times has he started this year? Like once?

Regardless, in spite of our terrible collapses that I partially attribute to inconsistent playcalling...I'm encouraged that the vast majority of our promising team will be back next season. I imagine the OL will see the biggest improvement and they are already damn good.

Given that we've played a lot of nickel during the first half of the season and he's played so well, I'd include Tevin Mitchel as a non-returning starter.

Ugh. That thought scares me. I know some of the backups will do just fine, but he's such a dynamic player.

We have so many quality players redshirting this year. It makes me happy. Especially on the DL.
