It will be nice not losing our entire team for once.

I can confirm that experience matters.

Some other pretty young teams out there...

Yep. As you said, the list of what we lose is definitively shorter than what we return. And we have some talent on deck that we redshirted as well.

I wouldn't even consider Braylon Mitchell an actual starter. How many times has he started this year? Like once?

Yeah I debated between going SLB or NB for our 11th spot in the depth chart. The one the UA releases lists has twelve starters because it includes both the SLB and NB. We lose the starter at both those position so no matter which way you go we're losing 4 starters on defense.

It's great time for Mullen to bolt. But he may wait on the UGA job as it is his dream job.

In all seriousness though, breaking in a new QB is a big factor.

Amen. Very rare a team exceeds expectations with a new QB.(See 'Bama 2011 for the exception)

QB - Jennings and Harris
RB - LF, Williams
FB - Jones
WR - Quinn, Dupre, Diarse (Dural gone)
TE - Gordon, Smith (but we don't really use TE
OL - only returner probably Pocic (maybe Hawkins)

DT - everyone (not a plus)
DE - both starters gone
LB - Louis, Beckwith, Jones (Kwon gone)
FS - Adams (Mills gone)
SS - Jefferson
CB - White, Robinson, Thomas

Actually, McCarron didn't do well at all in 2011 until his final game.

If you want an exception, see Texas A&M 2012

redshirting

as an LSU fan, that word is no longer in my vocabulary.

The only juniors I think for LSU that are crucial to get back are Kwon, Hunter, Hawkins, and Alexander. Mills is good, but replaceable.

LSU going to Oxford next year is going to be nuts. Katy Perry better bring more molly

you pretty much just stated the worst case scenario...then again, with our draft luck it's possible

2011 McCarron, 219/328, 66.8%, 2,634 yds, 16 TDs, 5 ints, 147.3 rating...if that's an example of "not doing well at all", then I hope our next QB doesn't do well at all next year...

Threw for over 200 yards 5 times out of 13 games. Threw 7 of his 16 touchdown passes against Vanderbilt and Georgia Southern. Threw for 0 touchdowns in 5 games. Threw for more touchdowns than interceptions only 6 times.

The offseason hasn't started yet for the Aggies. They will lose 3 or 4 more starters.

Aside from our 9-6 loss to LSU, our closest margin of victory was 16 points...thus, he wasn't asked to pass as much...he also had Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy in the backfield so, unlike Manziel, he didn't have to do it all himself. When he had to pass, he threw very well and had a high completion percentage...not prolific but very well...

You said he didn't do well at all...stats-wise and results-wise, that's just not true. He wasn't stellar but he was steady and performed well, especially for a first year starter...

Can Fletcher even count as our starter; he makes Ritter at the end of the year last year look like a god.
