Smart kid, but man that's got to be hard to walk away from. Good luck to him in whatever he decides to do.

Good luck to RW, he is a talented player, but this is scary. Wise decision on his part. Best wishes for him in all his future endeavors!

It sounds like he's still going to be around the program which is great news to hear.

Though Williams no longer will play, coach Bret Bielema told reporters Monday that Williams will remain significantly involved with the program.

“What we’ll do is proceed with what we fortunately can do in a bad situation,” Bielema said. “We’ll put him on a full medical scholarship where he is entitled to everything just as much as he was as the SEC (regular season) leading rusher.

“He’s able to take care of his academics. He’s actually on a progression that he’ll graduate — his goal is to graduate with a finance and accounting degree — and then also start a graduate program here at Arkansas. He’s going to work specifically with me a little bit in our recruiting department and also with the running backs. Kind of a work in progress.”

Wow...LSU has a lot of mouthbreathing fans.

Ya'll really gonna talk smack on a thread about a kid's football career being over.

Hate that his career got ended early...he is still a Razorback and still glad to have him as a representative of the program.

Good at least allows him to finish school and be involved with the program. Hell of player but also good on him to take care of his health.

Sorry to hear this. He was a a great player. I was watching the 2015 game when he got hurt. Pretty frightening moment. All the best to RW.

He's going to finish school. He's an honor student and grades are important to him as well as it should be. He's a young man his family never has to worry about.

We will miss RW111 on the field.

This is great to hear.

. It's really only been a couple of Bayou Scholars that have trashed up this thread.....which is surprisingly low for this site.

Hated that he got hurt against us in '15. He definitely had the makings of something special on the field.

AU had a pretty good RB in the late '80s named Harry Mose who had a similar injury (on his 54th carry from scrimmage) and had to hang up the cleats. Ended up getting his degree at AU and has been teaching math in Washington HS Tuskegee for many years.

Sounds like from all accounts RWIII's a good kid, a good student, and will be an excellent representative for UA and its football program.

It was just one of those freak plays. I do not think the Auburn player meant to latch onto his face mask. That play could have happened a thousand times and no one would have gotten hurt.
