Just got a call from a coworker, that he announced via twitter that he is leaving football due to the neck injuries

quote:

I’m moving onto the next chapter of my life. It’s tough to not be able to play football anymore because I’ve been playing since I was four years old. It wasn’t something I wanted to do or planned on having to do so early. I’ve prayed, listened to my doctors, my parents and my gut.

That sucks. Must hurt a lot to have to do that. Good luck to him.

About sums it up, wise move on his part. Hope he experiences much success, I know everyone says it but he really is a great kid and model student athlete.

Good Luck to the young man. Here's to hoping that he lives a long and productive life and comes to appreciate the time when he didn't risk his neck (literally) for a game.

Sometimes you just know when it's time to hang it up and persue other opportunities in life. Good luck to him.

Wonder if his mom will continue to let his little brother play.

sad situation for him, football wise.

Hope he lands on his feet and has a great life in whatever he decides to pursue.

Glad that he is very mature about this. I hate this for anyone, but it's life you have to move on. I really wish they'd follow some of these young men & women who get hurt but how they move forward and still support the sport.

Thank you for everything you did for the University of Arkansas Rawleigh Williams III!!

He is, by all accounts, a really good kid who had one unfortunate play go against him.

RW III did have the potential to be the next great running back from Arkansas but I'm happy he's decided to call it a career. Your health is too important to risk. He can be the next great general manager from Arkansas.

I wish him nothing but the best with his studies and his life after college.
