Hey Scott.

What does an SID even do?
Schedules press conferences, put together the annual media guides, all printed schedules and marketing materials, reviews/approves all press releases...

The tweet is Martin's opinion and he's entitled to it. It was of poor taste for Scott to call him, and especially paraphrase a private conversation between the two, and then post said conversation on his website, basically asking for public approval.

It had a sort of poorly written corporate jargon / legalese air to it that I enjoyed.
Just made me chuckle because I can't escape it....even on the Rant.

I don't frequent the site or know much about it; I based the "legitimate" thing solely on the fact that it apparently has almost 100,000 twitter followers.
Don't change the subject. This isn't about FootballScoop; it's about a paranoid delusional person your school put in charge of its sports PR.

I think FS is a hack, but there is absolutely no basis to conclude that an SID's conversation with a reporting outlet was a "private conversation."

Whatever you say Scott.

I'm sure he didn't ask permission to post their conversation, which is probably why it was paraphrased in his article.

I don't think anyone needs to rush to defend FS on this.
This is fair. As I said, I wouldn't outright call it unprofessional, but it's clearly inaccurate.

The same could be said for many online only "news channels". We live in a report first validate later age, thanks to social media. I don't spend any time monitoring their content, and really don't care too much one way or the other, but the initial tweet from Martin was still a bad look for an SID. Better option would be to ignore the initial tweet and remain above it, or alternatively craft a better response that indicates the rampant 'shite flinging' that he attempted to accuse them of without making oneself look like a fool.

Just reread it. #truestory. It's not like I proofread shite on here, but I am at work, so forgive the momentary lapse back into my standard day to day.

He doesn't need his permission. He's a media member. It is all on the record unless otherwise specified.

Yeah, you should not proofread much...it's just a message board. Like I said, it just made me laugh because it made me think of a work email.

I generally am just happy when I can avoid a there/their/they're or your/you're error for all the jackasses who are quick to point them out. That's as good as you're going to get from me on Friday of FY end.

And how exactly are we supposed to rank the SEC SIDs?
Posted on 1/29/16 at 11:02 am to Gradual_Stroke
I thought the OPs idea was the best. Everyone is tied for first except the guy that got in a slap fight with an outlet that is a mouthpiece for agents. Like the old saying goes, don't get in a wrestling match with a pig . . .

The point. You missed it.
I think it probably would have been better titled "Name a worse SID in the SEC and why"... but the underlying theme is fine.

I definitely missed the point but I'm gonna act like its your fault now.
