Cheap rip off of Slade Wilson has his jimmies rustled. Let me ask. Why dwell on how cheap it is when you can't change it? Just get over it and move on. I got over the 41-34 defeat and the Florida game fairly quick because I knew it would eventually be returned in full force back to those teams. It just happens man. And to all LSU fans. CFB is a mysterious thing. No matter how much the system changes there will always be a giant amount of parody due to the unnatural amount of money involved and talking heads at corporate sports news stations. The way Bama got to media darling status was by winning and winning and winning. If LSU can get back to that level consistently and (I hope not) but beat Bama badly enough, then things will change. Good day sir.

Bama and LSU were the most dominate teams in 2011. They played to a 9-6 overtime decision.

The way Bama played in that game showed they were just as good as LSU even though they lost in overtime.

When Oklahoma St. lost to somebody late, Bama was the logical choice even though they did not win their conference.

Bama's defense was as dominate a defense as I have ever seen.

It certainly helped.

OSU had the stronger resume and probably deserved the shot over bama (same 1 loss record, stronger SOS). Bama was obviously the better team though. Probably the best defense bama has ever fielded and maybe the best team bama has ever had.

Not even OSU's coach thought they deserved to go over Bama.

Saban doesn't have any political pull outside the SEC.

Well, their coach was lying. Same record and OSU played a tougher schedule. And you can be damn sure he thought OSU should go. What a coach says publicly isn't always what he thinks.

Considering who votes in the polls, I would say saban being outspoken helped bama's case. It is not so much about having political pull. It is about influencing opinions (votes).

You snorting something if you think the country knew something was up with LSU players like Mathieu and that Miles used him and others illegally. No one knew nothing until Mathieu was suspended the next season. And this game is over and done with. I'm sure Saban pressed hard for a rematch, I don't agree with LSU being the lesser team at all. LSU's body language the whole game was that they were not involved in this game for some reason. Alabama came out fully prepared to play and LSU was not. End of story.

also winning a game by a bunch of FG's is not blowin someone out as a lot of you Bama people keep sayin. You scored a garbage TD at th end because the LSU defense had quit by then.

Got shut out but the game was still competitive going into the fourth. Oregon, Ok St, or anybody else for that matter would have been raped just like ND this year. LSU and Bama were the 2 best teams in 2011 and the 1st game was really good. So no I don't he played an important role in the rematch.

I can't decide what is more amusing. The constant crying by the LSU fans or the delusional arrogance of the Bama fans.

Who cares? It's obvious the voters got it right, Alabama beat the dog shite out of lsu and were clearly the best team in the country. Losing by a field goal in overtime says the game could have gone either way. Losing 21-0 in your back yard says solitary confinement is in order for the prison rape.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the sake of consistency, you could have stated that Bama's all-world defense lost in their own stadium, since the Super Dome is LSU's "back yard".

My pride? How about go frick yourself. I don't owe you shite.

Riseup just admonished, degraded, embarrassed, humiliated, and otherwise, verbally sent your saddle home, and all you can say is "go frick yourself" you're a real intellectual wizard.

A) the national media ever lobbied for a rematch

We've never had a situation like this where two great teams played a close game and the lesser team won. It's only fair that the best team in the nation plays for the national title.
I know you're trolling, but go back and look at 2006 and the Ohio State-Michigan game.
#1 Ohio State won, at home, over #2 Michigan, 42-39.

Close game, exciting, the home team wins by a field goal- which is around what home field is usually considered worth. Both teams finish out the regular season unbeaten (other than Michigan's close loss).

Note also the year- 2006 is following a USC title the year before, and was before the SEC was considered dominant (and thus HAD to get a team in).

So, why no rematch that year? As noted, Michigan lost on the road (as compared to Bama losing in '11 at home).

Turns out, it was a good thing there wasn't one. Florida smoked the Buckeyes, and USC stomped Michigan. But, there COULD have been one easily, and that would have screwed Florida out (and possibly the SEC's momentum, as LSU might not have gotten in in 2007 had, say, Michigan won. There might be other teams in the limelight. No great string of titles for the SEC).

Really, the most inexcusable thing was Mike Gundy not screaming his head off for a chance at LSU. Remember his Big-12 championship postgame comments- we really don't deserve a shot.
Just imagine your own coach said any such thing; Miles and/or Saban would have been shot.

Truth.
In my drunken head, OSU had a better offense than WVU that year. And WVU put what, 450 yards on LSU in the air. OSU had better receivers and better overall offense that year than any one in the country. It would have been a great game, but, Alabammy pissed and moaned their way to the NC. shite happens. If you go give a Nick Saban led team a second chance and add in the motivation of previously being beaten at home, there ain't no way the opposing team is going to win.
Now if we want to factor in the fact that Gregg Williams was a fricking nazi spy for Alabama, well that shite was over before it began. Conspiracy hat [ off] on, now.

LSU had too much to overcome in the title game. You reverse the rolls (LSU losing at home in the regular season) and good chance LSU wins the rematch.

LSU's staff did a terrible job of prep though. I personally do not think saban did anything special or some great job in game planning. Bama had all the intangible motivation and pissed off factor already. My big issue in the game was LSU's defensive game plan. It was obvious from the first game bama could not consistantly run on LSU and LSU's secondary was too good at ints for bama to take a lot of chances downfield. It was obvious to me bama would have to establish the short passing game with the TE and backs out of the backfield. I even said as much in the game thread before the game started that night. But LSU was totally unprepared for it and LSU knew what they had at qb so they weren't going to score much regardless.

The media started saying the r word right after the fricking game (9-6) was over. It was in the interview with Miles right after the game, where he said he would be honored to play them again.
