He consistently wins 20 games and has raised their bar up the last 3 years as well. I think he is a solid middle of the pack coach.

Well let's review the 1st 3 years of these 2 coaches:

Coach A
19-12
20-14
22-11

Coach B
21-13
24-11
16-15

Who would you take?

Kennedy's 16-15 campaign was due to his 3 leading scorers going down with season ending ailments all before conference play began

I think that the situation at Ole Miss in 2006-2007 was harder to win and recruit to than LSU was when Jones got there (and ever, for that matter). Ole Miss and Auburn are historically the 2 worst basketball programs in the SEC, and on top of that he was trying to sell the Tad Pad and non-existent facilities to recruits.

I think Kennedy is a middle of the pack coach and middle of the pack recruiter and Jones is an excellent recruiter and below average coach. Both probably average out to about the same place.

Ole Miss record pre-Kennedy : 1,020 - 1,134 (47.4%)
Ole Miss record w/ Kennedy: 203-117 (63.4%)

Ole Miss NCAA Tournaments pre-Kennedy (~ 100 years) : 6
Ole Miss NCAA Tournaments w/ Kennedy (10 years) : 2

1. Cal
2. Howland
3. Pearl
4. Barnes
5. Johnson
6. Martin
7. Kennedy
8. Anderson
9. Stallings
10. White
11. Fox
12. Kennedy
13. Jones
14. Anderson

Would be my ranking. NCAA Tourneys and to a lesser extent success there (though it is a crapshoot once you're there imo) are far above anything else in my criteria. It's tough with so many new coaches but we've seen enough from those bottom 4 guys to put them there. White has never made an NCAAT. Stallings has been underwhelming at best considering the talent he's had. Kind of jumbled after that but none of those guys until you get to 2-4 have a huge track record of getting to the tourney consistently and Johnson seems to have the highest ceiling of those 4 at 5-8.

Martin will lose his experienced veterans

Next year's team will still have Thornwell, Notice & Stroman will have plenty of experience & leadership. But yes, he's gotta keep the momentum going forward which I think he will as long as he signs a few more guys in this class.

Next years team will have:
Thornwell
Notice
Stroman
Silva
Gregory
Dozier
Cobb

Pretty solid group, along with 4* athletic big man Sedee Keita coming in.

What Coach Martin has done here has been fantastic, I think we Carolina fans have seen the progression over the past 2 years & finally are seeing the fruition of the much needed patience towards Frank Martin.

I think Barnes at Tennessee is going to be mediocre at the very best. He won't recruit all that well (not nearly as well as Texas) and he is an incredibly average X's and O's guy.

This first big class has been about getting program type guys to build around who you know will stick around. Turner, Fulky, Williams, Bone, Johnson and Parker are all top 150 type guys. Three coaches in 3 years means there is very little base on this roster to build around.

If you look at who they're targeting in 17 and 18 it is much more like how you saw him recruit at Texas. Almost all top 50 guys.

Don't forget Barnes was also very successful at Clemson and Providence. He has been to 20 of the last 21 NCAA Tourneys.

KA is too low, did you not see how great we looked against Pine Bluff and Savannah state?!

How much would you drop him? He has had to build a completely new roster at Auburn. We have two Barbee guys still left and one of them is probably done for good. It's unrealistic to really judge him off of his time at Auburn so far.

This is so fricking retarded. Last year all you dumb fricks had Frank near last and now this year he is in the top 4. Short attention span idiots. It's also idiotic to have Mike Anderson that low, but again last year you mouth breathers had him in the top 4. Most SEC fans outside of Carolina, UK, Arkansas and 1 Florida fan on this board are retarded.

Mike Anderson has 1 NCAA appearance in 4 years and Frank Martin has 0. Both will be batting .200 after this season in all likelihood. Let's not act like we are dealing with Pitino and Boeheim here.

They forget Mike Anderson took UAB to the tournament 4 times, made the sweet 16 once and 2nd round twice there. Then took Mizzou to the Elite 8 and the tourney 4 out of 5 times.

They forgot Frank took KSU to the elite 8 and sweet 16 and made the tournament every year there.

Both rebuilt dumpster fires. We are now undefeated and on a fast tract to a top 5 seed. Anderson fell off this year due to half his team getting arrested for printing fake money and losing two NBA players.

Context much?

No one was claiming that Martin or Anderson are as good as Pitino or Boeheim

Too early, but you are what this year's record says you are.

Fox at 8 is absurd. He typically has UGA as a top four or five team in the SEC. If you look at our b-ball history that is better than typical. He should be at worst #6 in the SEC. Probably
fourth or fifth.
