I agreed with most until you put Stallings here. That's just laughable.

Man, I don't know. Such a random mix with different strengths at different times.
Calipari, obviously. Pearl did great things at Tennessee, seems to have Auburn going in the right direction. Howland was great at UCLA until he was just ok at the end. Kennedy has had modest success comparitivly to national programs but for Ole Miss he has been more consistent than anyone in the history of the program. Johnson was an average NBA coach with a personality that seems like it should recruit (has so far), and has been out of this world as a coach this season. Stallings is always solid. Barnes was very good for the first half of his career and slowly arched down at Texas. Fox is a great X's and O's guy.
The overall quality of coaches in the league is so much better than it was 5 years ago.

Stallings needs a change of scenery. Vanderbilt was loaded on paper but it looks as if he's just lost the team. I thought about moving him up based on prior accomplishments/seniority, but as of right now that's exactly were he fits on the totem pole

I mean, guy went to the NCAA Tournament 5 out of 6 years from 2007 - 2012. He isn't a bum.

Pearl #2? LOL, If he can't cheat, he can't win.

Solid list. I don't know what moose tracks ice cream is but if it is better than peach cobbler than it must be pretty fantastic.

simply put, there are a lot of good coaches in the conference now. a good bit of them are interchangeable. Still, Martin at 4 is a laugh riot.

He's had several starters out, having to play walk-on point guards. AU will improve once players return from injuries and some depth gets on the roster.
I think 1 guy is left from Barbee if that tells you anything.

Have you forgotten how well he did at K-State? Who would you put at 4? Barnes? All he did was underachieve with superb talent year in and year out.
This list is who I'd take going forward rather putting too much stock in previous years

Stallings has a losing conference record over the last 16 years. And the SEC has been a bad basketball conference the last several years.

I think Barnes at Tennessee is going to be mediocre at the very best. He won't recruit all that well (not nearly as well as Texas) and he is an incredibly average X's and O's guy.
I know people like him and he had some great years 10 years ago, but Texas hadn't been better than above average since 2008.
