Mizzou = 16 conference championships as well, but all in Big 8 or earlier days.
With Steve Bieser as the current head coach, he's only Mizzou's 4 different head coach since 1937/.
Mizzou was a powerhouse during the '50's and a good chunk of the 60's under Coach John "Hi" Simmons. All six of their College World Series appearances came in this window, as well as the 1954 CWS title.
Norm Stewart was a freshman pitcher on that '54 team. He was good enough that he did play a year of minor league ball for Baltimore, in what was the Class C league before focusing on basketball.
