Yes because people normally take pay cuts when they take new jobs. Especially when they leave a job where they are set for life. Makes complete sense.
Do you think that someone would trade, let's say the Utah State job for the Bama job at the same salary?
ETA: You know what I'm getting at.

Final Verdict: Arkansas is quite similar to several of the non-elite coaching positions in the SEC. It’s a good job, but it’s not a destination job for a coach with national title aspirations.

That's like saying you're going to hire a first year employee straight out of college for an executive position.
A BCS head coach who is at a stable job isn't going to take another BCS job for the same or less money.

The Kentucky job is ranked over the Mississippi State job
It might be because Kentucky citizens have a few nickels to rub together andMs doesnt...not a flame, but statement of facts...look up the average income for citizens of each state and education avg of each person. I myself would rather live in Ms than Ky because of fishing.

Wait, what? This is not what I'm told around here. Weird.
ETA: The above quote is pure blasphemy.

O RLY? I'd say out last 2 coaching hires blow that out of the water.

I dunno, I think the top three are interchangeable.
The stress, pressure, scrutiny, and expectations that are placed on an Alabama head football coach could shoot the Bama job to a #1 spot. The job is a phucking pressure cooker, not many men have been able to handle it.

How Nebraska and UCLA are above AU is laughable. I can argue with other provrams but those two are ridiculous

I have a hard time believing Washington is a better job than Arkansas. Having spent time at both universities, Arkansas is much more serious about everything having to do with football. The gridiron is less important than espresso to those people. UW is a pretty place to play in a so-so conference with little pressure.

OU is WAY to high. That job isn't what it used to be and it is going to be a really tough job to replace Stoops when he leaves. Still a very good job but not a Top 10 job anymore.
A&M clearly should be ahead of Bama, after all we hired away Fran!
In all seriousness though I think A&M is likely a Top 5 job long term. Just too many resources available not to be.

I'll give you UCLA but not Nebraska.

In order to be top five we have to do some work, just not there yet. Top ten is the first step and we're right there.
When the new Kyle Field is finished we will start to get there.

How Nebraska and UCLA are above AU is laughable. I can argue
Chizik had 2 yrs of HC experience under his belt, we all know his ISU record :puke: Gus has one yr HC experience at a Sunbelt program.
AU is a top shelf program that pays good, has great facilities and plenty of money, why can't Jacobs get a seasoned/proven winner to coach the football team?

easiest schools to recruit to imo are Texas, USC and Florida...

What great traditions?? lol
If by tradition they mean constantly under performing in relation to their talent level, then yeah, they have tradition.

Where else do they put a statue pad in anticipation of the next NC?

Doesn't the fact that you had to pay him significantly more than he was making to take the job actually support the ranking?

2Beez took a very small pay raise shifted the university savings on his salary to position coaches.
