I'm curious to hear what Big 12/Pac-12/B1G teams you think deserve to be on the list.

See OP. I listed them. I have Stanford and Michigan State.

Why is MSU going to have a top 5 defense?

South Carolina is trending backwards.

I don't know anything about Michigan State other than that they lost Golston.

Michigan State returns 5/7 in the front seven and have good DT to replace Golston.

5. Texas A&M

We were 27th in scoring defense last season. We have a LONG way to go to be top 5.

Lobotomy - I don't know if A&M is going to be fighting the same upward battle as Oregon because of temp on offense. Oregon is very underrated on defense because of the depth it requires with our tempo.

Good list, I can't find an argument with it.

Starting DT, Sam, Mike and FS all graduated.

Starting Weakside End (and leading tackler) left for the NFL draft

Well, Oregon lost their top two tacklers (both at ILB) and our drop end in Jordan, basically an OLB. Oregon's secondary and DL are the best they've ever had. The 1st string Mike this spring was glamor Joe:

I take solace that A&M did offer him but he is an EE JUCO kid. Luckily we had guys sitting out in front of him with what we believe were precautionary reasons.

Pac - 12 defenses are trending upward. Stanford may have the saltiest defense in the country. I put Florida there but Stanford is downright scary. BIG BOYS that can play in space.
