Had the correct call been given, then AU would have taken a knee and ran the clock out. This is correct that the need for the "miracle" would not have been present absent the blown TD call, but I don't really mind the luck/miracle stuff regarding 2013. It was a crazy year. As long as people don't go too far in trying to take away credit from the team and coaches, who by any account improved unbelievably throughout the year and with even marginally better luck win the BCS title, I'm alright w/ it.

2013 was unlucky at the end of the day. The UGA play was only necessary after UGA was given 7 points they did not get.

The Kick 6 was good coaching and the "luckiest" play of the game was the 99 yard td when our defenders ran into each other.

The FSU loss required everything going against us to eventually lose.

Of course the unlucky breaks against UGA and Bama eventually led to much more satisfying and fun wins, but AU was pretty unlucky to even have needed the winning plays against both.

Meh, does it really matter though? In 2007 when WVU and USC went down, I thought it funny and thinking "Is this real life? We have a chance?"

As a side note OSU had a D that was ranked #107 I think. That's how you lose to ISU.

I'm not saying we weren't lucky to have some teams ahead of us lose, I just don't see another team with as legitimate an argument to be in that game as UA.

2009 Alabama team also belongs on any list of lucky teams. Last second touchdown to beat Auburn, last second blocked field to beat Tennessee, and dirty hit to injure Colt McCoy in championship game against Texas

Oh I agree. I just wished OSU beat the Cyclones...the NCG probably would have been a 40-20 type game, like WVU and Oregon. The BCS was supposed to match the two best teams, and they did.

So you're one of those "if Colt doesn't get hurt, Texas wins by 14" type of guys, eh? That's comical.

2009 Iron Bowl? Lucky? We ran the ball down the field on our last drive, not sure how that's considered "lucky."

15 play, 79 yard drive isn't lucky. That's just beating your defense's arse.

I didnt know drag routes to Julio Jones and a screen pass to Trent Richardson or a PA pass to Roy Upchurch was considered "running the ball"...

Most NC teams need a lucky bounce....except 95 Huskers, they pretty much delivered arse whippings every time.

If I remember correctly, Alabama only had 71 yards rushing the entire game against Auburn in 2009

eh, I misphrased. Regardless, a 15 play TD drive isn't lucky. That's my point.

Did you not read the OP?

In his/her eyes, any close win is considered lucky.

ETA: It stemmed from this
