And they didn't have to play the only good teams from the East either.

They also averaged more points a game than bama.
What ever happened to the ole phrase "defense wins championships"? When your defense can consistently hold anyone to 2 or fewer touchdowns, you don't need a high-scoring offense. Scoring 15 points would have won all but one contest for Alabama in 2011.

The name on the front of the jersey is what got bama in that game.
It certainly helped. Depending on which LSU showed up, a national championship game between LSU and Oklahoma State could have been like the 2013 BCS National Championship. LSU's defense didn't have any major flaws, and LSU's special teams were stellar. 2011 Alabama's national championship wasn't gift wrapped for them. Both teams had more than a month to prepare; it's not Alabama's fault that Miles and the LSU offense were woefully unprepared. I would argue that letting Oklahoma State into the game would be the equivalent of gift wrapping the championship for LSU.

They blew out Florida, and Georgia was 0-4 versus teams that finished the season ranked. What makes you think that South Carolina would have toppled 2011 Alabama?
2011 LSU and Alabama were undeniably the two best teams in the country that season.

The West was superior to the East that season.
Regarding your 6-6 team, y'all competed with Georgia and South Carolina. Interceptions screwed y'all over versus Florida State.
