He will be a top 10 pick in next year's draft if he is healthy.

Underwhelming for an All-American defensive tackle and a guy ranked by you as the best player in the SEC, no?

I still think of him as a 5 star recruit rather than an elite college player. His hype in recruiting is no doubt carrying him to accolades not yet earned on the field.

Geez man, take it easy on us. Coming in way too hot with that burn.

I'm not rustled at all about whether or not Nkemdiche is overhyped or not. I have my opinion and everyone else has theirs. This is a football message board, and it's a Wednesday morning. I'm just trying to generate some good discussion and engage in a quality debate, which you refuse to do.
If you've been trolling, you win.

You told me you knew I didn't know anything about football because I don't watch film on individual players and that's why I was saying he was overhyped - because I was just looking at statistics.
He was an All-American with the following stats
2008
24 tackles (7 solo)
4.5 tfl
0.5 sacks
2 QB hurries
1 forced fumble
2009
28 tackles (12 solo)
6 tfl
0 sacks
1 pass break up
3 QB hurries
2 blocked kicks (into his armpit)

Matt Barkley
Bryce Brown
Terrelle Pryor
Russell Shepard
Joe McKnight
Jimmy Clausen
and many more weren't carried along and given accolades due to recruiting hype. Your ignorance is showing.

He was an All-American with the following stats
Terrence Cody played Noseguard in a 3-4 defense for 2 downs out of every 4, and his only job was to command a double team, and everyone knew it. He was the best in the country at doing that - which is why our linebackers were so effective and why every team we played had to gameplan against him.
Because of that, he was selected to the first-team Coaches All-SEC team in 2008 and 2009.
He came in as a 3* JUCO transfer and didn't get an ounce pre-season hype before 2008.

He's a clown who thinks he's busting my balls about a player who plays a completely different position with a completely different role.
He might as well have listed Mark Barron's stats or some stupid ish like that.

While we're talking about Terrence Cody
And it wasn't because he was a highly ranked recruit. It was because he did his job better than anyone in the country at his position, and the rest of the coaches in the SEC agreed.

Uh, it isn't ignorance when the vast majority of people look at the numbers and go "hmm, I don't really see how he's earned those accolades."
It's because he hasn't. He's a physical specimen with a lot of potential, which is, of course, why he was a hugely sought prospect. People still consider that in lauding him as an elite player, which he is not.

So you are saying that sometimes the raw stats alone don't tell the entire story of an interior defensive lineman?
