bullshite. I'd wager that I know a lot more Auburn fans than you do, and I'd say that less than 25% wanted him. At least 25% hated the idea.
Again, at that time, nobody really understood how poorly he had been recruiting.
Not sure what your point is anyway, he's far less of a shitbag than your offensive coordinator.

There's already two in this thread that admitted it.
I wanted Patterson but I would've been happy with Petrino at the time. Yes most were disappointed with Malzahn. I was alright with the hire but not ecstatic. Obviously we were wrong.

I wanted Jimbo, then Gus.
I'd rather the program shut down before hiring BP

I disagree with this completely. The majority of the Auburn boards were against the BP hire. There was a loud minority in favor.
I would say most that frequent this board were in favor of it but most people I know IRL were against it.
We can probably find a poll about it on the AU board

I wanted him, but know a lot of people that felt like you.
At the time I thought he could bring us back the quickest. Glad I was wrong.

Forgot about Jimbo. I did want him first but didn't think he was realistic

I said it last time, post Chizik, if BP were hired that I would not attend a game or even buy a t-shirt. I would not send a cent no matter my pledge until he was removed. I may not ever watch AU Football again, IDK...

Better question....
When/where does Rhett lashee get an opportunity? Arky after Bert?

I wanted BP then Gus. I thought Jimbo would have been status quo of schools following the Saban Blueprint. Get superior talent, but do not think outside the box. BP would have been successful from the start, and AU was ready to sweep the old school AD Administration out the door. Gus was able to be successful without tearing the fan base apart.

Been telling my Troy buds they should give him a shot but I would hate to see him go.

He will be Ark HC in three years.

Gus was just behind Jeff Fisher, as far as the names being mentioned, in my book. BP wasn't even on my list.

First off, you don't know me so you don't know who I know. Secondly, if you state less than 25% of Auburn fans wanted BP, then you are in denial. The overwhelming majority wanted BP. A very underwhelming majority wanted Gus.
It appears you guys ended up with the right coach so it doesn't really matter. But don't try and take the high road now. But then again... it's Auburn. I should expect that from lil bro fans by now.

I know you.
You're a dumb Bama fan who thinks he knows my school. BP was on very fews want list.
Feel free to retort, redneck.

This is simply not true. 25% is a good estimate. They were a loud 25% though. It was also true that there was roughly 25% who would have rioted if BP was hired.

No, that's totally incorrect. You don't know shite.
I said 25% (at least) hated the idea. That doesn't mean a majority wanted him. Most people were turned off by the idea.
I know you all too well based on your lame-arse, ignorant posts.
Again, what if we did want him? He's a fricking saint compared to your new OC. At least Petrino has been a successful coach.

That is BS. Over 50% did not want BP because of his past, both at Ark and AU. I was one of those that wanted him and I was dumbfounded by why the majority of the fans were against it. The only reason he was a candidate for so long, was because of two powerful boosters.

So the silent majority wanted who?
BP was well ahead of Gus on that group then.
But the question does remain. Would Auburn hire BP if Gus left? The answer would be yes. And not think twice.
Furthermore, as a Bama fan, there would be a lot of support in T Town for BP as well. Even with the Smart still there.
Now... tell the truth.
