I think this event solidifies how Bryant >>> Saban. I thought Saban might have a chance to surpass him but if you're only ally is Bret fricking Bielema, you're doing something wrong.

Kill each of your QBs with sacks, one at a time.

Sign all the mobile QB's and move them to defense.

How long does it take to teabag a QB to death?

He'd have Leroy Jordan knock a player the hell out thus giving as much time between plays as needed.

NCAA article
quote:

Research indicated that teams with fast-paced, no-huddle offenses rarely snap the ball with 30 seconds or more on the play clock.

May not make much difference anyways.

I think the rule change will go into effect if passed by oversight committee March 6.

NCAA Playing Rules Oversight Panel
Shelley E. Appelbaum, senior women's administrator, Michigan State University
Kristy Bayer, assistant athletic director/head volleyball coach, Arkansas Tech University
Jeff Hurd, commissioner, Western Athletic Conference
Sue E. Lauder, athletic director, Fitchburg State University
Noreen Morris, commissioner, Northeast Conference
Lynn Oberbillig, athletic director, Smith College
Derita Ratcliffe, senior associate athletic director, University of Alabama-Birmingham
Larry Scott, commissioner, Pac-12
Jon A. Steinbrecher, commissioner, Mid-American Conference
Lisa M. Sweany, athletic director, Armstrong Atlantic State University
Doug Zipp, athletic director, Shenandoah University

I think the biggest issue people have with this at this point is the dishonesty of the discussion. There is no evidence of player safety being a factor. It's simply "I've failed to defend it adequately".

Once the NCAA limited his recruiting advantage and started making scheduling more equitable, Coach Bryant became a mediocre coach at best.

So when are they doing this to Saban. (LOL)

As even as a four generation LSU family, (Brother Brother N law and cousins all played in this generation) I say bullshite to that. He was the best football coach of all time period. And a decent and nice guy if you were not playing for him.

Which is why he won a national title 3 years before he retired.

Who says Saban doesn't have a solution for HUNH teams? His Rip/Liz concept works great against those type of offenses. Johnny Manziel was the difference maker.

All of the above, just like Saban has been doing.

One of Coach Bryant's supreme virtues was adaptability to the ever changing realities of football. Would he have: 01. Recruit slightly smaller but faster players at the edge positions. 02. Build stamina via quicker, fast paced practices. 03. Accentuate recruiting a few highly intelligent players at the LB/Safety positions that could make quick and proper on field calls/adjustments. 04. Develop a defensive scheme that works modeled after successful coaches (such as Chavis). I didn't put down bitching as option 5 since I don't associate this with the great man. What say the rant?

Maybe desegregate a little sooner?

Why would you post something like this and completely expose your stupidity to the entire board? I'll swear, there are some clowns who take pride in their stupidity.
