I would think he's lost it because it would be wayyy out of character.
He doesn't care about Auburn. Auburn is a marginal 7 win team and maybe the 9th best program in the SEC currently. He'll say all of the right things about it being significant but I doubt he really cares.

How about 1978 where Bama lost H2H to USC yet still claims a split NC with USC? I guess these H2H games really don't matter.
Bama has been one of the best without inflated NC's. 9 seems like a semi-legitimate # even with the 64 and 73 losses in bowl since it was voted on before.
To the LSU "fan", the Tigers have 13 CC's. LINK
And please save us that Bama doesn't care about SEC Championships.

Agree. No one disputes their historic place as #1 in the SEC, but a bunch of their title claims are just really absurd.

He referenced dominating them 365 days a year when he was hired.I take that to mean competing against them in recruiting.I think he's done a pretty good job of this.

Bama has 10 national championships in the AP era. Among SEC schools, Florida and LSU has the second most national championships with three. You could take away three national championships from Bama's total count and they still would have more than twice as many national championships as the #2 SEC school. It's an exercise in futility to knock Bama's accomplishments.

We always thought it was pretty straightforward - when a credible poll declared us national champions, we let people know.
Since this bothers some of you, let us know which you consider legitimate. But please use a consistent set of criteria that you are willing to apply to your own claims.
