1. You probably pay more attention to A&M now then before since we're in the same conference.

Of course. My school didn't play them, now they do. That's a given, hence the nature of the question. I was just wondering if the coverage was more pronounced now in the state of Texas and it appears from the feedback to be so.

My son and I went to the A&M/AU game and had a great time getting to know the Aggies, and we enjoyed the campus and people very much. I do a little business in Austin and in Houston and the difference between the A&M fans and Texas is stark.

Texas is only a year or 2 away

Let's run the numbers. Since the Longhorn Network launched in August of 2011:

Football:

36-28 (25-19) Record
0 Conference Titles
2-2 Bowl record
2 losing seasons
1 end of season ranking (2012)

Basketball:

100-70 (48-44) Record
0 Conference titles (tournament or season)
4 tournament appearances (2-4 record)
1 losing season (CBI appearance 0-1)

Baseball:

155-124 (55-65) Record
1 Tournament Title (post-A&M)
2 tournament appearances (1 Omaha)
1 losing season

That's not even a steady decline. That's a NOSEDIVE which is directly correlated with the Longhorn Network.

The perfect storm of the move to the SEC, Johnny Football's drug and alcohol problems, a racially hostile campus towards visiting high school minorities, ritualistic animal murder and sodomy, losing two 5* quarterbacks in the same year, losing the commitment of recruits over a coach's social media temper tantrum, and tu being down vaulted A&M into the national consciousness more than ever

The narrative has changed in the last five years, however.

2011 - A&M needs to learn their place and accept being below Texas

2016 - A&M is better than this. What is going on there?

Did you even read what was written or did you just take it as an insult and felt like you should defend the Image of Dallas

Goes to show how much the SEC is afraid of A&M
and what they are capable of doing in all sports

within the state a lot of the local media organizations try to pretend that A&M and the SEC in general doesn't exist.

before a&m joined the SEC, the SEC in general and LSU specifically got a relatively large amount of coverage by the Houston Chronicle. a&m and tejas got more (esp tejas). now, a&m is getting more; i'd say at least equivalent of tejas and you can forget LSU. it's like there was a moratorium put on LSU once the aggies became competitors.

We get it. You don't like us. That's OK. A lot a people don't like us. We don't care.

But if you don't like us, could not care less about us why would you waste you time not only reading a post on media coverage in Texas and even worse, taking time to post about it shows some serious mental problems.

In all honesty and concern about your condition, I strongly suggest you seek some help. If you can't afford it I am sure there is some kind of social services in your area that could help.

Stay strong. Get some help.

Most fans of one of the university could not even attend SWT
While fans of the other actually attended the university they support

Due to bleeding money, ESPN is slashing expenses at the Longhorn Network and they will no longer do any studio shows.

Texas is only a year or 2 away Mack left team pretty bare, Strong has had 2 solid top 10 classes, 1 more and the depth will be back

a year away from what, winning more than 6 games?

1/4 of one of those "top 10" classes never even made it to campus.

I don't need to defend the image of Dallas.

I'm just saying that for anyone to act like it's the folks from DFW that constantly bag on Houston while folks from Houston couldn't care less is a joke.
