On a related note: Remember when the consensus on the rant was that A&M would go somewhere between 5-7 and 7-5?

I tried to bump some of the season prediction threads, but there was a lock on them.

FWIW aTm could still easily go 7-5.

2. You REALLY think Dan Mullen is going to finish the season without screwing up? Their D line is nasty but Mullen is an idiot and anyone who knows anything about football knows it.

Alabama, Arkansas, Ole Miss.

Those are the only remaining tough games on their schedule. They get Arkansas at home, and with MSU's strength being D-line and D-line depth, I think they should win that game rather easily.

So they just have to split between Alabama and Ole Miss. Both games are on the road, but both games are against teams they are better than. Mississippi State is the most complete team in the country.

As for Auburn, they have a very good team. I thought they were the best team in the country going into the season, and I think they're the second best team in the country right now. However, I doubt they can make it through the season without another loss. They have an even harder remaining schedule than State. @Ole Miss, @Georgia, @Alabama. That's a loss, or two.

ETA: Even with two losses, Mississippi State could still win the West. Ole Miss could easily lose twice. Alabama will definitely lose again. The West is still open for business.

Your are 100% correct about Dan Mullen. MSU has a great team, but he will absolutely coach them into multiple losses this season.

LSU isn't beating anyone in the West this year. Too young at QB, too young overall. They'll play tough but this is a building year in Baton Rouge. They beat Kentucky and bowl at 6-6.

Arkansas beats LSU and they'll get UGA this weekend and Missouri later on. They finish 7-5 (3-5)

A&M beats LSU and Missouri and finishes 8-4.

Auburn beats Georgia and Alabama and finishes 10-2.

Alabama beats State in Tuscaloosa and loses the Iron Bowl. 10-2.

State loses in Tuscaloosa, and loses the Egg Bowl in Oxford to finish 10-2.

Ole Miss beats LSU in Tiger Den and The Hogs in Fayetteville and wins at home vs Auburn and State to finish 12-0.

Ole Miss 12-0 vs 9-3 Georgia in SEC title game, which Ole Miss wins

agree that they only have three tough games left to play.

I think they aren't as complete as they have come off though. Dak is really good but when they face someone who can load the box with decent corners aka bama they will lose because msu doesn't have good receivers.

I see them losing both of ole miss and bama, I think ark is a toss up depending on what kind of momentum they carry into that game.

factor in that Dan Mullen will be outcoached by freeze and nick and quite possibly bert....I don't see where they pull out 3 wins like that.

You probably said the Dogs would lose to Auburn for some well thought out not worth a shite reason, too.

They will beat Ark and at least one of the two UM UA games. My belief is that the O line for MSU matches up well against UM's D line and the dogs will run the ball down the bear's throats all game long and that Dak will beat UA by himself with Slant passes, short runs, passes to tight ends, if needed. State's D will dominate UA, too.

I'm almost in agreement. However Ole Miss is not going undefeated. That's one of the dumbest things I have read. They may win the west but it will be with a loss.

NEWS FLASH, I AM BIASED, but I do think Ole Miss does have the better chance to go undefeated this year.

State and Ole Moss fans need not to get so butthurt when someone says your team might lose this game or that game. It'll all be settled on the field. In the meantime all we can do is speculate and try to use good sense to do so. I still dont think Dan is a great HEAD coach. Hes obviously a great offensive mind but he scatter brained and impulsive. He's better with someone holding his leash. Those fake punts he pulls, which he does ALL THE TIME are just ridiculous. And I've seen him single handedly kill drives with his play calling. State is where they are at this season for two reasons: Heisman trophy front runner, and elite D-line and linebackers. Those are second to none.

I'd like to see Dak try to beat Ole Miss with his arm We are gonna to make State one dimensional and we get them at home. Rebs by multiple touchdowns. State with multiple suicides.

State is not "last years auburn" like Skip Bayliss has coined them. They are 2012 A&M. 10-2 with a heisman trophy. That's not an insult. Look how much attention and over rating A&M gets because of that season. It's just unfortunate for the Dogs that they have to play in T-town and oxford this season. If those games were played in Starkville I'd feel different. If I'm mistaken then oh well, I'll enjoy watching them prove me wrong.

You're too over confident. That game will come down to the end. And ole miss' defense isn't gonna do anything to the bulldogs that Auburn's did not. The difference will be the venue.
