A&M/Tech was actually the best rivalry in Texas
Tech actually surpassed A&M under Mike Leach
Since Leach left A&M did much better in the rivarly

Sucks that a "3rd division" program has more revenue than the great Texas Longhorns.

I will admit that if Texas wasn't bigger than most states, more populated than most states, or if Austin was a shitty town, or the university didn't have a better than average reputation, or if the university didn't have the resources to compete, its alumni would have less ego and arrogance.
Sometimes ego and arrogance are just an obnoxious symptom of thinking you can accomplish something if you put your mind and resources to it.
Bottom line: I'd much rather have to deal with the problem of others thinking that I have too big an ego or am somewhat arrogant than the problem of thinking others have too much ego and arrogance.
Same applies to the state if you were talking about the state instead of the university.

UT made more money through the LHN then any SEC school
If you look at the actual revenue of A&M the increase of media rights was at the same percentage as the rest of the schools in the Big XII
The reason why A&M is on top of the list is because of donations or what they call contributions. Where the came from I do not know but the money was for refurbishing Kyle Field. So that money will not be there after this year and A&M will be back to receiving 15-30 million a year in donations instead of 70-90 so if you remove 40 million dollars from that number is the place on the list that A&M belongs

Although it can apply to the state, I was speaking more for the University of Texas having the most ego of any university in the NCAA. I can't name anyone else.
But yeah Texas and California are definitely top 2 states in ego and arrogance. Probably because they have a huge population and have the mentality that they could secede and do as good or better.

Speaking of Texas. I always thought a rivalry between Texas and Tennessee would be natural. There's a lot of history between the two states, they both are UT's and both have their own ugly shade of orange.

You aren't making a fraction on the LHN what the SEC Network is making. Mainly because cable packages actually offer the SEC Network and not the terrible LHN.
A&M has something that Texas will never have. The Southeastern Conference. While I wouldn't consider myself an Aggie fan. I'll have their back because this is the SEC. The most stable and best conference in the NCAA.

I want to go on record as saying while I almost always wish failure on A&M sports, I want them to make as much money as they can and keep making it. That money gets spent in Texas.

Thing is you did not get a Florida, Carolina, UGA or UK
In those four states the SEC has the top university in each state. Pretty much no question in UGA and UK. With Carolina and UF they have a slight rivarly with their in state school but not much

Conferences do not mean anything it is what the people of Texas think of A&M compared to UT.
When UT is winning A&M disappears but they never had to go through this not as an university connected with the state
Once UT starts winning again and it may be very soon A&M is no longer playing Texas schools so a&m will not matter to the people of Texas
