Maybe I should talk about how Auburn looked less than impressive in their bowl game against #9 Virginia Tech. I mean seriously, you expect us to believe you could've beat USC when you only beat VT by 3 pts.? I don't buy it. Didn't then, don't now.
a scoreboard watcher would say "they only won by 3". everyone else would say VT never got the ball with a chance to tie or win the game, and auburn threw just one pass in the entire 4th quarter....whatever the final score said, auburn was warming up the bus long before the gun sounded.

SEC Commissioner Mike Slive has told me that snub was the spark that set in motion the movement toward the playoff.
As it should have been.

Really, bc it took a "leaping" penalty to beat a mediocre Saban team that year.
frick you. We pay our refs better than you do. deal with it.

Team Tubs. bullshite Chokelahoma got to play those fricks. 2004 is better to me than 2010.…better team

Not surprised. Probably the best overall team in SEC history IMO.
Went undefeated and only had 1 game all year we weren't up by double digits by the end of the 3rd quarter.

He must have forgotten all about that USC team that marched into Jerkin-Hair in 2003 and laid a 23-0 beatdown on his arse.
And that USC team had true freshmen Leifert, Bush and White playing in their first CFB game. Had auburn been in the 2004 BCSCG, those true freshmen would have had two full years under their belts by then.
USC probably beats auburn about like they did the Sooners. The aubie nation likely just avoided an old fashioned trip to the woodshed.

Dumbest argument ever.

I guess you should give back those national titles because nothing could saved you from losing to 5 loss Florida at home in 03 by double digits or two 5 loss teams in 07.
Tubs is right that team was the most dominant SEC team of the BCS era and it isn't really close. Every game except for like two was over at halftime. #1 scoring defense in the nation, SEC Offensive POY and 1st round draft pick QB, 2 top 5 RBs, 3 receivers with multi year careers in the league, 2 Pro Bowl offensive lineman, Thorpe Award winner....

That team seems to get better every time you post.

You're right, alabama should just forfeit the Iron Bowl. Most of our team that beat them last year has returned thus there is no way alabama has any chance this year.
Ask UGA and LSU how much kicking our arse in 2003 helped them in 2004.

Well USC was lucky to beat VT at all that year and VT's coach said AU was the best team they played after the game was over.

The 2004 Auburn team would beat any Bama team in the last 10 years by at least 10 pts.

I missed an at least 10 pound bass a couple years ago, she's probably 20 pounds by now.

If winning by 11 is lucky, what's winning by 3?

Maybe if they scheduled better OOC opponents than the citadel, ULM and ULL they would have made it. We all bitch when a undefeated team that doesn't play in the SEC gets in but that year it went the other way. Had they scheduled any 25 - 50 ranked team instead of the citadel they are in. fricking deal with it already.

Didn't originally schedule the Citadel. Bowling Green, which ended up 9-3, backed out of the game late and Citadel was the replacement.
