Sarcasm, but wouldn't be suprised
Don't think you would see the SEC put the 2 most accomplished programs in one 4 team pod.

The best possible adds would be Virginia and North Carolina. But neither will happen. NC isn't going to separate from Duke unless their interests change dramatically and their administration can sell a very different POV to their alumni.
NC State is locked in with the GOR in teh ACC.
We're stuck with 14 for the next decade - even though 16 would make a lot of sense.

UNC and Virginia would be the best additions IMHO ...The old CSA is now covered in the SEC footprint with flagship institutions. ....and no I'm not racist. WooPig. : )

In my opinion the schools are not going to come from the B1G, ACC or Pac 12.
In my opinion the schools will come from a state that is not already in the SEC footprint but does border an SEC state.
An exception would be maybe another Texas school
My top candidates are:
Oklahoma and Oklahoma St. - May have to come as a pair unless OSU was to land in a power conference.
West Virginia - Would be here in a heart beat if they could get an invite.
Cincinatti - Maybe not the best fit but is the best school not already in a power conference and would be an easy get if you are looking for a 16th team.
East Carolina - If you want into the NC TV market this is your best shot. I think Cincy is more ready to join the SEC though.

If there is expansion coming soon I agree it will come from outside of the B1G, ACC, Big 12 or the Pac 12.
There are some rumors that ECU and UC are going to be invited to the Big 12 next month.

Been rumors going around even before the Big 12 snub from the playoffs that Cincy and Memphis were going to be invited to Big 12. Who knows?

Amazing that anyone would think the SEC would be interested in not one, but 2 teams from Oklahoma.
Too many schools like Okie St is exactly why the B12 is such a POS conference. The SEC isn't taking any little brothers from small population states, ever.
My choices:
UNC, Va Tech.
Pod em up however you like.

Too easy. Go with the mascots.
I had to make a tough choice with UT and A&M on whether to place them in the Canine Pod or the Awkward Human Pod. Ultimately, I decided Smokey might present a modicum of menace that Lassie simply could not.
That left me one dog short and one awkward human short, hence the additions of Tulsa and Wake Forest.
Feline Pod
Auburn - Tigers
Kentucky - Wildcats
LSU - Tigers
Missouri - Tigers
Canine Pod
Georgia - Bulldogs
Miss State - Bulldogs
Tennessee - Vols/Dogs from Cool Hand Luke
Tulsa - Welcome Goldie!
Awkward Human Pod
Ole Miss - Colonel Sanders
Vanderbilt - Admiral Sanders
Texas A&M - Aggie Yell Leaders
Wake Forest - Demon Deacons
WTF Pod
Alabama - Pachiderms
Florida - Alligators
Arkansas - Lard (I think "Lard" is already plural)
South Carolina - Dicks

There would be a playoff system for the SEC Championship game where the East pod champion would play the West pod champion.. and the North Central pod champion would play versus the South Central pod champion for a bid to the SEC Championship game..
No, I'd rather it just rotate pods. For example, in year 1 the north pod plays the south pod and the east plays the west. Best team from each pairing goes to Atlanta. The next year, the north plays the east and the south plays the west. Best from each goes to Atlanta. So on and so forth.
That eliminates the "fair schedule" debate in determining who goes to the championship because everyone played the same teams from within each half. It also means you play every school every three years and play at each school every six. Waaaay better than the 12 year bullshite rotation we have now.

The state of Mississippi would have no chance if it was aligned this way.

Why must some of you young pukes continue with the expansion crap? Tradition is something y'all don't understand. Not going to happen for many years.
UF, Ga, UK and USC all are a voting block to never allow the girls school, Ga Tech, Louisville or Clemson in the SEC. They would all vote for each other and thus any mention of those aforementioned teams is folly.

Realignment won't happen for at least another 15 years. Every power 5 conference team except for the SEC is locked into grant of rights. It would bankrupt their athletic program if they switched conferences.
