Well then you dont remember shite. Zow started 1999 as starting quarterback and danny woodson started 1991 as starting quarterback.

This. The only reason why Zow didn't come in and start over John David Phillips in 1998 is because he was a freaking true freshman. By the end of the year, however, he was the starting QB. In 1999 that job was his. In 2001 he didn't start out as the starting QB because we were running a more option oriented offense that Tyler Watts was better suited for. By the end of the year, however, Zow was the starter and was winning us ball games.

Even though Sims was from out-of-state, he had just as many if not more Bama supporters on his side heading into the season than AJ did because he was higher rated coming out of high school. Sims was the #1 QB in the country when he committed and many Bama fans were convinced that that made him better than AJ.

Also, CNS doesn't give a f*** who fans or boosters want to play QB.

And Zow took the Job from John David Phillips in 1998, Phillips didn't get hurt.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (BP)--At the conclusion of a recent University of Alabama football game, backup quarterback John David Phillips made his way, like he does after every contest - win or lose - to the center of the field. Once there, he kneeled, took the hand of an opposing player, bowed his head and began to thank God in prayer.
Since being demoted to second string after only the fourth game of the season, many might question Phillips' thankfulness - especially after the four long years of patiently waiting and preparation that led up to this, his final year to play for the Crimson Tide.

Phillips, a fifth-year senior, was named Alabama's starting quarterback Aug. 21, two weeks before the Tide's season opener against Brigham Young. Four games, 112 plays, 46 completions (out of 84 attempts) for 429 yards and one touchdown later, that job was lost.

From his impressive showing in the much-anticipated opening matchup against Brigham Young Sept. 12 (hitting on 17 of 29 passes for 188 yards while leading the Tide to five scoring drives) to the frustrating performance against Florida, where he was benched after completing only one of four passes and being sacked seven times, Phillips' faith in and relationship with Christ has remained constant.

Too bad the HS coach has to start slinging mud. Sims has been nothing but class since his commitment to Bama.

He is also hurting his chances at a hardship waiver.

I knew it was McCarron's job after the Kent State game. After his play against Penn State I think every Alabama fan accepted that McCarron was better than Sims.

The main blogger for RollBamaRoll didn't. He kept posting that Sims was a better QB than McCarron and shitted on McCarron way worse than I ever shitted on McElroy which is really saying something.

Also, David Palmer stepped in for some quarterback duties in 93 when barker got hurt (Alot of people forget he finished third in the heisman that year)

Stallings maintains (probably correctly) that had he put palmer in earlier we would have won that game.

This is 100% a racial issue. No way the "old money" boosters at Alabama would allow an African American to be their starting QB.
